Hawaii pre & post bansters

Recommended Posts

It seems like no one is in the mood to write. I have been slacking myself. Doing ok. Not great. It's like a pound here and there. Sometimes 2 a week other times plateau. VERY slow.

Congrats on getting below the 200 mark. I have 6 more months to get below but at the rate I am going, I don't know. I sooooooooo need to get out there and exercise. You know how that goes. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses. So I shouldn't be B'----ing about the lack of wt. loss, eh?

Hope to see you and everyone there next wed. Did you get the newsletter? It is on a new Vitamin shop. There are going to be samples and all. Cool. Cheerio

OK, so here I am once again. Yes I agree, we have all been slacking, well lets hook up. My hubby and I will be on Oahu on May 19 till the 22. I have an appt with Dr. Fowler at 9:45 am on the 22nd for a fill, I am not sure I need one, but I have been eating so much lately that I need to do something, so I hope the added fill will get me going again. I have only had 1 in September than an adjustment a few weeks later, but none since then. I have been snacking a lot. Just keep losing and gaining the same 4 lbs. How about everyone else??? Miriam, I will be going out to Laie on the 20th (the Tuesday) to see my daughter, (during the day though) maybe I might see you. But you will be working though right???? anyway, if anyone wants to meet let me know I am sure my hubby would love to talk with you guys again and check on how you guys are doing, anyone else want to swap stories of their journeys????? He is on a business trip, and I am just going along for the ride., Hope to hear from all of you.

Just checking in.. How are you ladies?? I have lots of getting stuck episodes but im not throwing it up as much. I try to head it off with papaya enzyme most times. I even brought some for work. They are chewable and help get food down. Other than that, i am plugging away, working out and eating healthy.

OK, so here is my newest update. I got a fill on 6/22/08 got .5 cc put in, then 2 hours later I went back cause it was to tight. Had .25 cc taken out and I absolutely loved the restriction, then i flew home. Weeeelllll that night was a nightmare, I have never had acid reflux before, and boy is it horrible. I tried some tums, no help, tried pepto bismal, some help. But then I called Jennifer, told me to take Nexium, got a prescription from my PCP, took it, helped one night, then back to the same. Sooooooo now I have to go back and see him on June 3 for another defill. I hope he doesn't have to take out all of what he put in. I really love the restriction I have now. During the day I am fine, but small problem of being to full after my meal that I cant get enough of my Fluid intake for the day. Well, so I go back and get a defill. Wish me luck. Mirium, sorry that I couldn't meet up with you the last week. I think Lisa and I are meeting up on Tuesday after our appt with Dr. Fowler. Any chance you are off????? anyone else??????

Hey everyone,

How is it going in BandLand. I hope you are all doing well and getting near to goal. I probably have to take out some of this Fluid, at least .25cc-.50 or so. I have a hard time with fish and chicken after putting so much. How about you??

OK , so new update, I went back on 6/3/08 and had more Fluid taken out. The acid reflux was better, but still present, so I called Jennifer and she talked with Dr. Fowler and he said I needed more fluid taken out. I am disappointed, but I don't want to hurt my band, so back I go to see Dr. Fowler, but the funny thing is last night for the first time since I had the fill I had a good nites sleep, no acid reflux. Go figure, well I will see how it goes tonight. My appt is 6/26/08 at 11:30. anyone else?????

Well I just signed up for the 7/16 meeting. I have to see my PCP tomorrow to get the referral and then go to the meeting. It is getting so exciting. I am planning to use Dr. Fowler the lap RNY I just think that I wouldn't do good on the band since I am a junk food junky. This is the only forum that I know of that actually has people that Dr. Fowler has done any work on.

Aloha,

Nahealani

I wanted to know how long did you have to wait to get the procedure. I hear that some places that you have to wait a six months of supervised diet and excercise. 2 years of history of being over 40 bmi. Is this true?

Thanks for all your help

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
