Help I'm 7 1/2 months out

Recommended Posts

I have gotten where I'm hungry all the time I want to snack all the time. I'm eating stuff I know I shouldn't but I'm hungry. Help I have to get back on track. Didn't make this decision to just be a loser all over again. I have had to have knee surgery so it's hard to exercise now and walk some days. I work so it's hard to go to gym. Just need some help to get my life back under control. Thank you for listening and help is appreciated.

I know how you feel. I have been going through this since my birthday (Nov22) right before the holidays and throughout the holiday season. Now that the holidays are over I'm starting over again!

Try keeping cooked chicken breast and broccoli always on hand. When you are hungry and want a snack, ask yourself if you want to eat chicken breast and broccoli. If you don't, then you aren't actually hungry -- you are just having cravings/head hunger. If you do want to eat chicken breast and broccoli, go for it. You can't do much damage with chicken breast and broccoli.

Disclaimer: the chicken breast and broccoli must be leanly prepared! I'm not talking deep fried chicken, or chicken slathered in BBQ Sauce, or broccoli with a boatload of melted cheese poured over it. Prepared using cooking sprays and herbs.

Go back to the basics. Protein first. Get your Water in. Move around as much as your knee will let you. Try to eat on a schedule rather than eating when you are "hungry". If you are prioritizing protein and eat 5-6 times a day on a schedule, there shouldn't be much opportunity for hunger.

I'm bought some Protein Shake to take to work with me since I work in a chocolate factory it's hard but most of all just getting up and moving is what I need the most can't let my knees control me. It's mind over matter just have to remember this.

Thank you everyone for your support and no negative response I haven't been on here because I didn't want negative reactions. Should've been back on here sooner. Thank you for allowing me back to the losers bench.????

OMG, I have so much respect for you! Smelling chocolate all day long would kill me!

This is almost always caused by carbs, at least for me. If I allow myself to eat carbs then my hunger goes through the roof. However, if I go back to the pre-op diet for a few days my hunger goes back to be non-existent. This may be a warning sign for you to watch your carbs.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
