Can you get too much protein after surgery

I am a week after surgery tomorrow and my nausea today has been almost as bad as the first day. Have not had any trouble until today. Wondering if I ate too much Protein?

I drink plenty of Water, and try to get 60g of protein a day. Is that too much this early?

Or maybe I just ate something my new stomach doesn't like?

Trying to figure it out, don't like taking steps backwards:(

I doubt very seriously you can get too much Protein soon after surgery.

My protein goal is 100 grams a day. I was sleeved so don't know if the bypass is different, but my surgeon said that there is no physical reason I wouldn't be able to drink 3 premier Protein shakes the day after surgery.

It's not easy, but if you keep sipping, you can do it.

That's what I figured. I really think my stomach just didn't like the cream soup I made yesterday. Thanks for the reply.

I wasn't so nauseous after my RNY; however, my friend who got the sleeve was always nauseous so her surgeon prescribed her some Phenergan to rub on her wrists. It worked instantly. Maybe you can get that from your doctor.

Good luck!
