Surgery in Chicagoland on Dec 1.... It's Finally Here

Recommended Posts

After attending the information session in July, I've jumped through many hoops. I didn't have to do the six month diet, and I'm happy about that, but there were so many things to cross off. But i respect my doctor and group for being thorough and safe. So now, the day is almost here. I go in Monday for the "type and screen" blood test. Then I arrive Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. for the BIG EVENT. i feel like I've been responsibly doing all of the requirements, but now IT'S HERE. I'm not having doubts but realizing once again what a change I'm in for in the next few months, especially. I'm looking forward to the weight loss, of course. But I'm going to turn into one of "those" kind of eaters, you know, the ones who hardly eat anything. That is going to be so new and different for me, and so challenging. i'm a closet eater. i don't eat large amounts in front of people. So I'm going to have to find other things that make me happy when I used to reach for food. I have a few things on my list.

So, stay tuned. It's (almost) here!!!

Best wishes! I had RNY in the Chicago nw suburbs 5 months ago. I'm so grateful. So far have lost 73 lbs and couldn't be happier. You'll go through lots of changes, and will have lots of questions along the way. But we'll be here for you. Let us know how it goes Tuesday.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
