Any September bandsters out there???

Recommended Posts

May God bless you good!!! I will send up my prayers for each and everyone of our september bandsters, esp for those of us getting it done this week. I personally will be banded at 10:00 am cst in Monterrey, Mexico. I too would appreciate your prayers.

I dread the gas, but was told if you take a little mag, citrate or fleets before surgery your gas it MUCH relieved. I will be doing this on Tuesday night since I don't want to be "going" at the airport or on the plane. I hope that works. I have dealt with gas pains before after having a gynogram years and years ago. It is not pleasant and usually hurts worse than the procedure itself.

Again, blessings to those of us be banded this week and may God speed your healing. Post as soon as you feel like it and let us know how you're doing. I will do the same after I return home Sunday evening.

Cleone, if you read this, thanks for the "tap", it seems to still be working and I'm good to go for the flight and so far no panic over the surgery. I LOVE it!

Blessings:pray:

I am glad to hear that everyone is losing good and feeling great! I am a whimp and there was no way I would have went back to work today. I am a stay at home mommy though (to a 2 year old) and he is going to work me into the ground! I have lost 13 lbs since my surgery of the 19. I was not required to do a pre-op, so I lost all mine afterward!

I understand that one! I am sitting up all day, but in a recliner. I did go run errands with hubby today. And oldest son has a football game tonight, hopefully going to do well with it. I haven't had to take many pain pills. I did this morning, just so I could sleep! I miss my sleep, I am totally an 8-10 hour a night kinda girl!

poohlvr - I must be a wimp right along with you. I had my surgery last Tuesday and with the post op nausea and travel I am completely wiped out. I was supposed to go back to work today and I called in sick and may do so again tomorrow. I have also lost 13 lbs since my surgery. Do you have any neck/shoulder pain? I have it in my neck and I cannot sleep at night without the pain medications so I am tired all the time. Trying to up my Protein today to see if that helps things.

Congrats on your weightloss and staying positive for all of the rest of us. I was in my hotel barely lifting my head off the pillow and there is your email wishing everyone best of luck with their surgeries. You so ROCK girl!!

Let's keep in touch.

rachel1972 - I was more nauseated from the drugs and being put out than being in pain. The only issue that I have had is the sore neck from the referred diaphram pain. I am feeling much better and I am 6 days out and trying to get all my fluids and Protein in seems work at this point.

Good luck with your surgery and be sure to post when you are feeling up to it and let us know how you are doing.

:gluck: You can do this!!

Hey all!! I was banded on 9-11-07 and am doing well so far. I started back at the gym yesterday and managed 2 miles on the elliptical machine!! I was tired afterwards but felt great. It was nice to feel those endorphins again...I actually missed exercising!!

Gurly girl - thanks so much! I truly care and want to hear from everyone! You all have carried me through this all too! Thanks so much! I am doing much better today and got out and walked for 30 mins with my boys. It felt good! I am doing much better! How about you? My neck never bothered me, just left shoulder.

Way to go Eastxnurse! You are awesome! Keep up the good work!

Kellymovingon - that is great that you were able to get on here! I have been worried about you! There was no way I could have gotten on here the day after surgery! Are you feeling it from gas, just keep moving girlfriend!

Wow legalmandy you are a trooper too! Thanks for the quick update! I hope that you heal quickly! My incisions weren't bad, just the nausea and gas were horrible! Keep checking in please!

Amber, wow - did your doctor ok you to go back so soon? I was told at least 6 weeks! I was even doing some gym work before the surgery (not 2 miles on that pain in the butt machine though) Take it easy, you have lots of time to get that rock hard body!

I'm feeling much better. The soreness from the incisions is much better. I'm able to get up and down more easily now. I am hungry though.

Anyone have any ideas for adding Protein to heated liquids? It clumped when I tried to add it to Tomato Soup yesterday.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
