Does anyone miss their stomach?

Recommended Posts

It's very weird realizing that I don't really have much of a stomach. I guess you have to lose something in order to gain something. And god knows I abused it!! But it's out there somewhere and I have a very different body and different life. Quite surreal!!!!

Weirdest to explain to friends that 85% of my stomach is gone. People here understand but people on the outside don't.

Don't miss my tummy, and don't really think too much about it being gone. Never had a single regret from day 1.

Does anyone miss their stomach?

Nope, my food always goes through my mouth, down my esophagus and into my stomach.

I haven't missed it yet.

:)

I thought I was the only one that felt that way! I do miss my stomach so much because I crave Water. I feel so dehydrated and helpless. :(

Newbies go through so many feelings as they're transitioning to a sleeved life. We all did. All changes in life require us to adapt. And we do.

Months later, years later -- which is what matters -- it's a whole different deal. You just adapt. It feels normal.

It really does. :)

I do not miss it. I have had one or two times in the past three years where I though to myself "I wish I could eat more" of something, but that was ridiculous and fleeting. Now, I wish I could eat less. As times goes on, your capacity does increase some (never to pre-op capacity) and I miss the days of being full from a couple of bites.

Miss my stomach ???

SSSSSSHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT................that thing was wore slap out for a while now.

Hell, my jaws are now happy. They were tired of chomping, chewing and working way to dang hard.

i don't miss my stomach, I don't miss constant back pain......I don't miss knee pain at every step.........I don't miss a thing.

It's nice to look down and see.......my junk. I swear it may even be growing, too.

I don't miss the food & drink that I abused to achieve such a heavy weight.

I not going to miss shopping at the oversized dude store.

I'm not going to be missing......for much longer anyway.....the motorcycle jacket that wore in college 25 years ago. That jacket kept me from getting too scraped up in a couple wrecks. It'll feel great wearing it again with the same style Levis I work in college, too.

I miss nothing and look forward to EVERYTHING.

I'm just 2 weeks post op and I've been getting chest pains and stomach pains when I try to eat mashed stuff, so I've just been really frusterated. I still crave "normal food." Maybe it's just all mental. I'm thinking maybe it just takes time for my body to get adjusted to this lifestyle but so far I'm feeling a little down. I wonder if I'm making all these complications up in my head or others get them too. I wake up everyday at 4 am almost feeling stressed. Sorry if it sounds like I'm complaining. I didn't tell anyone other than my mom and dad and 2 best friends about the surgery so I feel super bottled up lol

I agree. But I think we are in the worst stage and that it gets better.

I was on liquids for 17 days, and then went to full liquids. Think strained Soups and pudding. And even then, it was an ounce or two at a time. I just accepted that I wasn't going to be eating for a while, and I was OK with it. I doubt you are imagining it. Do weigh and measure your food, and remember, the whole point of the surgery is to provide you with a drastically reduced capacity to eat. I was getting 300-400 calories a day at 2 weeks. Just make sure to stay hydrated!

Do a search on this site and you will find plenty of others who have gone before you with similar concerns, and they did fine.

Nope. I don't miss my stomach.

I also don't miss my big floppy boobs that blocked my view of my feet when I tried to groom my bits.

I don't miss my squishy lap that stopped me from painting my own toes.

I don't miss my fat thighs rubbing together for the everlasting chub rub.

I don't miss the boils where my fat overlapped.

I don't miss my chubby feet that forced me to look for wide shoes or go up a size.

I don't miss my fat ass that didn't fit into theater seats or through turnstiles.

I don't miss my second (or third) chin.

I don't miss my fat calves that wouldn't squeeze into tall boots.

I don't miss my fat neck that made turtle necks feel like they were squeezing me to death.

I don't miss all the fat on my arms, my torso, my chest that stopped me from wrapping my arms all the way around my loved ones and giving them the hugs they deserved.

Nope. I don't miss a lot of things since surgery...NOT AT ALL.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
