JP Drain fell from stomach into pelvis

I woke up with the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life. I instantly knew something was wrong. I immediately went to the emergency room. I was experiencing severe stabbing pain in my lower right quadrant area. After a CT scan it was determined that the inside part of my JP Drain was no longer connected to the top of my stomach but fell into my lower pelvis. I am 8 days post on so they immediately removed my drain and my pain was instantly gone. What an incredible feeling that was to be pain free. I have never heard of this happening and am curious if anyone else has experienced something similar?

I haven't, but I wonder why they left it in so long in the first place?

Regardless, I'm glad it was a problem easily resolved, and that you're pain-free now.

Wow, never heard of something like that, but glad you're feeling better now.

Oh how scary! I'm glad you caught it! Now I've got something else to fear post op. lol I actually scheduled my appt to get the drain removed already! lol 10 days after my surgery in 10 days! ????
