  4. Edamame is an excellent source of Protein and I love how delicious they are. I like to roast them personally but they are great warm, cold, or added to certain dishes.
  5. I recently just found this product. It's called muscle pharm muscle gel and it's a little pack with 1.62 ounces. It has 0 fat and 0 sugar and 22 grams of protein. I absolutely hate sweets so I thought this would be an excellent way to get in some quick protein without having to sip on several shakes for a long time. Granted I know this won't cover protein for the entire day but it will definitely help. Anyone else heard or tried this product?
  6. I woke up with the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life. I instantly knew something was wrong. I immediately went to the emergency room. I was experiencing severe stabbing pain in my lower right quadrant area. After a CT scan it was determined that the inside part of my JP Drain was no longer connected to the top of my stomach but fell into my lower pelvis. I am 8 days post on so they immediately removed my drain and my pain was instantly gone. What an incredible feeling that was to be pain free. I have never heard of this happening and am curious if anyone else has experienced something similar?
  7. I am October 20th too!!!! So exciting and it will be here before we know it Best of luck to you and congratulations

  11. I have Aetna Choice POS II. I too had the option between a 90 day multi-disciplinary program or a 6 month program with a physician. I chose the 90 day multi disciplinary program at a Bariatric Center of Excellence. Which I must say is the best way to go. Absolutely everything is in the same place. My 90 days worked out to be 4 total visits to meet the requirement. Each of my visits I would meet with my surgeon, the nutritionist, and the surgery coordinator (she handles insurance as well). In addition to my 4 visits within the 90 days I also had to have a Bariatric Psych Evaluation and provide 2 years of weight history. I submitted to Insurance on August 17th and received my yes from Insurance on Wednesday August 26th. My surgery is on October 20th. My best advice for anyone just starting the process would be to call your insurance directly to confirm the requirements and soak up as much information as possible about how your new life will be. Best of Luck to you!

  27. @@larac05 I know what you mean. It is scary to know that all of your hard work comes down to a final decision and waiting sucks. My best advise it to keep good thoughts and stay busy!!!! Definitely stay busy Best of luck!
  28. Thank you everyone! It really is the best feeling and I am so happy for the people who have gotten to experience it and the people who will
  29. I got that information too. October 20th. My surgeon is a pretty popular guy so I will have to wait a bit longer than I had hoped for but honestly just knowing this is happening is life changing. I did not know hearing a yes would feel this good
  30. I got the call today! I am approved and in total shock. I prepared myself to appeal if I needed to. I am so excited and I cant believe this is really going to happen. I am so ready for it
  31. I just got the call that I am approved. I am in total shock. I honestly thought deep down that I would be denied. I thought somewhere along the way I missed something. I am ready for this and I am beyond happy. I will even admit that I cried tears of joy telling my husband. Waiting for insurance was the longest 9 days of my life but to hear a yes on the other end of the phone is the absolute best feeling. Each week I read another person say they were approved and have waited for 6 months for it to be my turn. Loser's club here I come
  32. I am so proud of you! It takes a lot for someone to say they have a food addiction. You are even taking steps to help yourself. That is extremely courageous. I think we just need to learn to take it one meal at a time. I am right there with you! I love food. I love eating it, I love thinking about it, I love talking about it, and I love cooking it. It is so hard to make healthy choices when eating is such a normal part of life. We have to eat to live, that's what makes food addiction so difficult. I know for me, I have to make a choice at every meal. Am I going to let food control me or am I strong enough to say that I make the decisions. I completely understand where you are coming from but we can do this! So many other people have taken control of their lives and we can too. I think seeing a therapist is such a huge part of this and can really help you become successful. Best of luck to you! I am rooting for you
  33. i definitely will please do the same. I am pretty nervous too. I honestly was not expecting to have to wait so long. Most people say they only waited a couple days at the most. It is ok. Good vibes for both of us.
