On Yesterday October 19th I had the Orbera Gastric Balloon procedure completed by patch behind my left ear
Day before:
liquid diet for the day before then nothing after 7pm
Day 1
Arrived at 7am weighed in at 336 lbs The procedure was nothing to worry about I was knocked out for the whole thing. The most painful part was the IV , the procedure It took maybe 15 min and I was back in recovery . I had a little scratchy throat but it went away in a few hrs .
During the first day after procedure I took it easy, I did not experience any Nausea or cramping .besides a little tingling in my stomach air escaping . I did take my meds . besides wanting a coffee i was not hungry . I drank about 12 oz of Water , little warm broth , and a sugar free popsicle. I napped on and off and went to bed normally with no issues. I don't even realize it is in my stomach, mine was filled to approx. 650 ML
Day 2
Weight 334 So far so good, no side effects , Had a scheduled appointment with the Dr. and dietician. not hungry . I am drinking water mainly, and sugar free popsicles .
I did notice that gas may build up under or on top of balloon and give you a temporary feeling of cramping, move around and change my position and it goes away, not bad at all. I plan of walking my dog for a mile or so today .
After Day 4 I can begin introducing watered down oats or cream of wheat . mushed up Soup ,
After day 6 more solid food can be introduced
More to come
