  1. I had a few days like that.. About 3 weeks after I had my procedure I had a business meeting in Vegas, 5 hr flight and travel food. You will make it
  2. How is everyone doing...roll call
  3. JLS , sorry for the late response , took me about 30 day or so, I was cash pay and I opted to bypass the seminar stuff. Just let them know you are ready to go. I am just shy of 3 months , and doing well. my top issues have been Nausea 3- weeks Vomiting- 4 weeks off and on depending when I ate too much Acid reflux ...(BAD) 6 weeks depending on what I ate Burping I am hovering around 35 lbs , went from a 48 waist to a 42 . get rid of your large plates , use small plates . I find eat very small portions a few times a day works better
  4. I feel pretty good , it takes awhile to get use to it . Small portions several times a day works best for me
  5. You will be fine ..what else would you be doing this winter right..chill and watch tv. shakes are from no protien drink a protien shake
  6. SLSH. .... How we doing today ...
  7. Hang in there , your Dr should prescribed you something for nausea. Try and drink sips of water. It gets better...
  8. Just told my Wife.. nobody else's business . Not everything needs to be socialized. Make sure your Dr. Gives you plenty of med prior to procedure. My Dr prescribed Emend for 3 days prior, expensive but we'll worth not being sick for the first few days.
  9. I had the Oberra Ballon placed in October. The procedure was a breeze. I was a self pay 7k . I have lost approx 34 lbs so far 17 in the first two weeks. The first 2 weeks are bad . I was sick most of the time and did not eat much . Try and follow your Dr. Instruction. Take off work at least a week. You will be sick 5 weeks in and things are better you will learn how much you can eat pretty quick .when you eat too much you will feel miserable and probably purge . No soda, no oils or butter no greasy foods because they will make you sick . I found mushy foods are the best. Acid reflux can be bad also. You will learn what you can eat to prevent this. I will try and answer your questions. Go for it.... it works be strong
  10. I started regular type of soft foods also now, I know why you mean about feeling awful . I made what I thought was healthy Chili with no meat with a vegi mix . I was sick for 6 hours . Acid reflux is no joke. Today I had a tuna fish sandwich with a tomato and that was too much. Vegetables like peas or broccoli , salmon, seem to be ok . I am not really hungry either . coffee is a struggle and I am a caffeine addict, so ice tea has been it. Other than the first 8 days I am getting use to it now. The first week is a bi@th( It has been 2 weeks for me also and I am down like 19 lbs .
  11. Much better after the first week , down 16 lbs 7 days , probably from not eating . Just did not want to eat felt full all the time. After this first week I feel pretty good now. Had an egg salad sandwich but threw out the bread for lunch and about 3 oz of salmon with some peas for dinner . Will top the night off with a little applesauce and cottage cheese for desert .
  12. I also just had the orbera balloon procedure , and agree with the earlier statement about blurry vision , I had the same reaction while using my iPad or phone . I had my procedure in St. Louis , I have been sticking to the post op diet they gave me.
  13. You seem to be doing great , I am on day 6 and not really eating to much at all . Spoonful of yogurt here and there . I could not agree more with you about the planning around food . The past week has been really different from previous Friday night dinner out at our fav Italian restraunt.
  14. day 6 , the last day or two has not been as easy as the prior ones. I had a mild case of acid reflux and some nausea. Not hungry , sense of fullness is there . I think I need to take on more water and protein .
  15. Day 4 good deal to hear today was my first day of soft foods I have a watered down coffee , and watered down cream of wheat . Probably just a few small spoons and have been sipping on the coffee for along while . no nausea or cramping today . I feel pretty good . Not really hungry at all . I am going to go grocery shopping today and pick up some soft type entrees. That I can blend
  16. Day 3 last day on just liquids , I m still not hungry , this morning I had a little bit of stomach cramping which went away about an hour or so .
  17. On Yesterday October 19th I had the Orbera Gastric Balloon procedure completed by patch behind my left ear Day before: liquid diet for the day before then nothing after 7pm Day 1 Arrived at 7am weighed in at 336 lbs The procedure was nothing to worry about I was knocked out for the whole thing. The most painful part was the IV , the procedure It took maybe 15 min and I was back in recovery . I had a little scratchy throat but it went away in a few hrs . During the first day after procedure I took it easy, I did not experience any Nausea or cramping .besides a little tingling in my stomach air escaping . I did take my meds . besides wanting a coffee i was not hungry . I drank about 12 oz of Water , little warm broth , and a sugar free popsicle. I napped on and off and went to bed normally with no issues. I don't even realize it is in my stomach, mine was filled to approx. 650 ML Day 2 Weight 334 So far so good, no side effects , Had a scheduled appointment with the Dr. and dietician. not hungry . I am drinking water mainly, and sugar free popsicles . I did notice that gas may build up under or on top of balloon and give you a temporary feeling of cramping, move around and change my position and it goes away, not bad at all. I plan of walking my dog for a mile or so today . After Day 4 I can begin introducing watered down oats or cream of wheat . mushed up Soup , After day 6 more solid food can be introduced More to come Jeff
