Jamielogical Enlightened me that Quest changed their bars. They now use insoluble corn Fiber. Lovely. But the flatulence is incredible.

Wondering why I was having this issue. Got an old box and no problems... New ones have given several of us gas! Just a bariatric pal to pal warning

@@Julie norton Oh well that's just fantastic! I literally just came back from GNC where I bought 3. I haven't had them in months!

Good to know since I stocked up on every flavor (including pumpkin!) for the new BP Store we're launching in a few days. Guess we're gonna have to find some good alternatives.

@@Elode Combat Cruch is what I switched to also. I'm actually eating one right now! The guys at GNC helped me find a good tasting bar that still used Isomalto-Oligosaccharide instead of Soluble Corn Fiber and the flatulence went away immediately upon switching.

For those of you who want to try to stick with Quest Bars, here is what their customer service rep suggested to me:

Now because the fiber is so much stronger in this bar, we are aware of the adjustment period a lot of customers have needed- and this is a the case whenever your body switched to any new fibers. The reason you are experiencing some discomfort is related to certain healthy bacteria in your gut microbiome. Our gut microbiome is incredibly important for so many facets of human health that we are just starting to learn about many of them. It is definitely worth taking the time to build up those healthy bacteria in your GI tract. I'd recommend starting with consuming 1/8 of a Quest Bar for a few days to assess your tolerance. If that causes no discomfort, move up to 1/4 and gradually build up your microbiome until you can eat as many bars as you like. It is the technique many have used to be able to tolerate many foods that contain many different fibers.

And here's a link to my original post on the subject:

I like Quest bars but I'm not going to put that much work into being able to eat them.....it's not that serious.

I have had Cinnamon Twist, chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Cookies and Cream, and chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. I didn't like the Cookies & Cream at all. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough was okay, but I kept comparing it to Quest Bars, since that was my favorite flavor. I stick with the Cinnamon Twist and Peanut Butter Cup now. Cinnamon Twist is GREAT for Breakfast, since it tastes so breakfast-y. Peanut Butter Cup is very much like a candy bar, so is better as a snack instead of a Meal Replacement.

Do these bars suffer from the Protein spiking controversy of Muscle Pharm Protein Powder or are they legit?

OMG! You're 100% right about this. I've been on fire the last few days because of them. Not going near another until they change their ingredients. I felt really bad for my co-workers and kids today lol.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
