Do you think Filipino Women make Good Wives?

Recommended Posts

Sorry all of you ladies are upset and possibly jealous about Men who go to other countries to get the Women. So what if an Asian Woman wants to clean, cook and probably make my sex life better. Isn;t that what a Woman is supposed to do for a Man?

Oh--you think all Men want a Woman to come in and raise his children so he can run the streets? Nix---get it right--I am not that type. But you can bet--you are jealous and very [issed off as I am reading here. Making persoanl attacks instead of answering the question at hand. I asked a question about Filipino Women making better wives. There is the name calling starting--showing me that many of you are so mad--at who? At what?

You are the people who started to be lazy and went all away from what a married Woman should be. Now that there are people in the world who's still doing a lot of the old world or old fashioned things--you're mad. Oh well--no wonder there are no decent women in america. The new law that "Women Congresswomen" enacted told a big fabricated lie. Saying the Foriegn Women must be protected. So they create a law to keep the Men--mainly "White" Men from marrying these old fashioned Women. Then they come to America and you hope sooo much that she get Westernized or Americanized quick--so you don't feel so all alone. The Feminists--the ones who find themselves all alone and want to get all new members to help and unjust cause. One day you will wake up and wonder--why are so many Men with the Asian, Europan and Black or Hispanic Women. Call it what you want--but you are not in control anymore. You lost that long ago. Too bad your eyes are soooo blind to see the error or your ways. Just like we are saddled with the term "Obesity"--many of us are "Legally Blind" to the facts of life. That life--you will take the misunderstanding to your very grave. Many of us Men want a good Woman--but now you are making the case--we just want a sex slave--maning we want good sex. Saying we want a maid--nope--we want old fashioned Women and if that hurts--suck it up.

Last thing---Thank God you don't run the Government. Close to 50,000 or more marriages still take place each month. There are so many Men getting married to foriegn Women now--there is a backlog of 1 year--just to get some of the Women to America? What's up with that? Then coupled with the INS and people who approve passports--it's now longer...Wake up--you all have been asleep for far too long

Lee, I am concerned for your health, your rambling style makes me think that you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You seem to be somewhat disoriented and your argument has little flow, you seem unable to coherently state your point.

If I am incorect I am sorry please take no offence, I only say this because I am concerned, I understand that being a single parent is very stressfull.

Sorry all of you ladies are upset and possibly jealous about Men who go to other countries to get the Women. So what if an Asian Woman wants to clean, cook and probably make my sex life better. Isn;t that what a Woman is supposed to do for a Man?

WTF????? Personally, I believe a man is suppose to make my SEX life better!!!! With three past wives, MAYBE you should look into how to please a woman in bed, not worry about yourself so much.

Many of us Men want a good Woman--but now you are making the case--we just want a sex slave--maning we want good sex. Saying we want a maid--nope--we want old fashioned Women and if that hurts--suck it up.

You just stated earlier that you wanted a woman to make your sex life better!!!!!!

Last thing---Thank God you don't run the Government.

This comment is perhaps the worst. This is like saying Thank God a black man of 50 doesn't run the government.

Lee, you really need to either start thinking about what you say, before you say it, or read it before you post it. You just like to argue for the sake of arguing. You did in on the bicycle thread with me about a better bike. If someone doesn't live in your little world of dreams, then they don't know shit. I truly hope that the Phillipinno woman you bring here has some kind of clue as to what she is getting herself into.

The first thought that come to mind when attempting to read this response from Lee was....No wonder there are 3 ex wives! Talk about twisting the facts! The only name calling I saw was YOU calling one of the women here a Dinosaur!!!

Then I read TommyO's response, and believe the correct way to respond may be just that, compassion for an obviously imbalanced mental state, be it due to stress, alcohol or other issues.

I hope for your sake Lee you find happiness. I too believe you have serious problems. I do not say this from a pissed off standpoint, nor a jealous standpoint, I have been happily married for many, many years. We have grown children and grandchildren, and are thoroughly enjoying finding ourselves again after the kids. I understand the want for companionship, and for the moral support as well as physical support for raising your children with, I do believe with every letter I have typed to you over this though, that you are approaching the issue in a wrong manner, and will simply be headed to divorce #4, and disrupt your sons lives yet again.

Good Luck, I believe you will need it.

Kat

Tommy O...you are Dead Wrong-!!!

I can ramble and do what I want in a conversation. This does say rants...I know exactly what I am doing. I have gotten many people up in arms over a very same thing. The problem with many Americans is--they can't stand change. The problem with a lot of people--they dislike people who are different. It has to be seen and done over and over--then finally they say---"oh ok, it's ok that he or she is different-cool".

Plus I am not trying to flow to your standards at all. I don't use drugs or alcohol and I don't smoke--nothing.

It said--point blank--off subject area.. So now you telling me each time you open your mouth or mouths--you've said all of the political correct things? Many years ago--people could not get with the immigration and now it's a big issue. But aren't we all immigrants for some reason or another? We have many mixed comments here--but I stand firm in my beliefs...

You should watch who you vote for--You may have a Black Man running the Government very soon. It's all over the USA--it's called "Change". I thought of what I said and stand by it. Look at the Government now. We have people who have been fooled and tricked over so called WMD's...Oh please...Many People went crazy with the so called "Patriotism". But--fooled they were. I wasn't fooled at all. I spent many years in the Military to know better.

Each time you speak on my 3 ex-wives. It tells me you have no real ammo to say besides that. I am at peace with that fact. My kids will be well taken care of--so let's not worry about that.

Real Issues for Real People--none of you have put up any credible argument at all

I don't think a person's race in any way determines whether or not they would be a "good" spouse. I don't think the two are related. Imagine asking "do you think a Caucasian man would make a good husband?" How would anyone be able to answer? They would have to say "It depends on the man". Same thing with this question.

I have a good friend who is black and who was born in St. Lucia. She immigrated to Canada as a young woman. She initially gained access to this country on a foreign worker's visa, she was working as a nanny and a domestic, and after she had served her time she was allowed, as is permissable under Canadian immigration law, to obtain Landed Immigrant status. This is equivalent, for you American readers, to obtaining a Green Card.

Now, this lovely black woman will not ever, ever date a black man. She claims that the ones whom she meets are quite crude in the way that they approach her, that they have no courtship skills, and that they are not ambitious in the way that white men are ambitious. This is a serious woman, she ain't laid back, and so she is left unamused by such courtship behaviour which might include calls of yo! Yo, mama, mama, mama...... She also wants to see major evidence of ambition in a man; she wants to see that he has finished school, that he values education, that he has been working on making himself financially sound, has a house, isn't an alchoholic or a drug abuser, has no debts, that he lives a clean and tidy life. Green's friend is a very, very conservative woman and who can blame her. She wants to have children and she is aware that that she must find a solid mate in order that she and her family flourish.

At the same time I suspect that my friend has become a wee bit of a racist. A handful of a years ago I was at a party where I met and spent considerable amount of time in the company of a fabulous guy. He was a lawyer and he had lived for some number of years in Japan earning his way by teaching English. I myself was quasi in love even though I am happily lodged in a long term relationship. The fascinating cat happened to be black and my black grrlfriend was also at the party.

Now I am not one of those individuals who believe that people should or must be attracted to each other solely on the basis of race, nationality, creed, or colour - far from it! - but what interested me was that my grrlfriend felt something in the way of an active antipathy towards this individual. I am inclined to wonder whether this was a kind of thoughtless racism.

As for my grrlfriend's disinclination to consider men of her own race as serious contenders in the mate race, she is younger than I am, she is also much more serious about her immediate life plans, she is ambitious, hardworking, and she wants a family, a stable, healthy and secure family. Within the framework of these requirements I do not know whether I would feel comfortable saddling her with the racist label. And I can understand her not being interested in the guy whom I found so fascinating. One man's fish is another man's poison. I guess I am just confused.

I guess I merely introduce this story because I believe that it has some relevance to the discussion. Different cultural groups do have different reputations and though much of this will lead to stereotyping we should be prepared to acknowledge that there is no smoke where there is no fire. The question is how much fire? and how relevant is this to us?

Is my friend being practical or is she being a racist? Or were her initial assessments practical? and is she now in danger of being a racist towards all black men?

By the way I want to assure you that my St. Lucian girlfriend is real and that some of her plainspoken attitudes surprise and often shock a few of our other whitebread politically correct Canadian friends.

Now that I have worked hard to try to explain as I see it the interplay of the individual as against the stereotype, I find myself acknowledging that we cannot ignore the information provided by the stereotype. Um, let me be more precise, not the old-fashioned ignorant stereotypes....the one which figures in so many of our prejudices, eh.

We are, however, different in ever so many ways and there are social scientists which collect the data on all of this and quantify it. Nevertheless, much of these differences are so obvious that it is not necessary for a cadre of researchers to move in, examine us, and then list to us our own awful and incomprehensible differences.

We are all different on an individual and personal basis; this is true. It is also true that that we all fall into larger categories and that these larger categories share similarities between themselves and have differences with other categories.

Take me for instance: I am a white kinda left-wingish university-educated Canadian female and I am an atheist. This indicates that I am going to be a lousy mate for most Americans, and almost all Hispanics, Filipinos, Orientals, Africans, Muslims, members of third world/developing countries, the Vatican, countries which value machismo, etc. If I was going to hunt for a mate my best shot would be to trawl in the Scandinavian countries (countries which are largely atheist, have socialised medicine - as do all the countries of western Europe - and where a significant proportion of the population have post secondary education.)

Failing that my second best would be to spend my time looking for a mate in Great Briton, Germany, France or to come on home to my own native land. All of these locales are environments which are comfortable and indeed prize the kind of individual which I am.

This is perhaps why I find myself less offended by the specificity of lee4's question that many of you do. I have been also under the impression - but I might be awfully blonde on this issue - that lee4 has been carrying on a cybernet relationship with his sweetie for some considerable period now and that he only submitted his question about Filipinas and love after the fact.

Of course I might be wrong and if you, lee4, are involved in doing wife shopping on line through some sort of grrl selling business, well, then I don't know what to say. There is a big part of me that is inclined to say that this is your business and caveat emptor which is the fancy Latin way of saying buyer beware, eh.

The truth is that I cannot fault you for wanting a lovely and loving wife for yourself and for your kids. And the truth is that I cannot fault a lovely Filipina lady for wanting a fine life for herself and for her family. What we are looking at here is a business of emotional as well as practical economics. It is customary in most of the world that marriages are arranged; marriage comes first and love will follow.

It is also true that women who fall within Green's demographic are going to run into trouble. It is equally true that a black Canadian woman can opt to dismiss all black men and can be so hard arsed about this that she can shock her milky-skinned friends with what they see as being racism.

One can only hope.

A black man or a white woman....those appear to be the choices for the Democratic nomination. I just wish the Republicans would run Condoleza Rice. That would make it perfect. All those redneck racists and chest-thumping macho men pulling their hair out at the same time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
