Wishing all of today's surgeries as much luck and easy recovery as I've had.

I'm almost two days out now and while I can't say I'm completely pain free, it's nowhere near as bad as I expected. I was discharged from the hospital after just the one night. No nausea at all, and I'm working on the tedious 'sip sip sip' that'll keep me hydrated.

I should've learned, though...I fell asleep on the couch and needed help getting up again. :P Silly me, it's a ilttle early for situps!

Well unfortunately I went in for my surgery even got prepped and everything but they happened to realize a thyroid issue with my blood work and thought the safest route would be to put me on meds for a few weeks and make sure my levels were under control and then reschedule because the thyroid effects so much including apparently blood pressure and he said it could even with y levels cause me to crash in surgery and if they didn't give me the right amounts of something because of course they can't predict that exactly with me not being on thyroid meds they might not be able to bring me back so I am glad he is being safe just a little disappointed I have to wait a bit longer but that's OK won't be too much longer

Glad your doing well! Its amazing how a surgery that sounds so painful is less than expected, thank goodness!!!

I didn't feel hungry but I wanted to taste something different, or chew. You may be feeling thirsty. Glad your getting everything in thats a big hurdle that some have a hard time with.

So glad they caught that. I can imagine the disappointment. But is great that they are planning it safe. I know the anesthesiologist is very interested in labs too. He mulled mine over for awhile. They want to be sure to keep us safe.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
