My bypass is in 2 days on 9/23, and today I feel like I might be coming down with the virus my kids had last week. Just a mild scratchiness in my throat so far, but I'm worried. Does anyone know if they would cancel surgery if someone has a cold??

My Surgery is the 24th and my surgeon told me if I had a fever or became sick to let him know. I believe they would reschedule you, because they don't want things to get infected, but don't quote me 100% on that.

Hopefully you just don't feel well from the liquid diet or your nerves.

Usually they will postpone if you are sick. It all depends if you're respitory system is involved or if you have a fever.

I spoke to the nurse and she said it might be ok if it doesn't develop any further, but it will be up to the anesthesiologist. So I will find out on the day of. I'll be biting my nails til then
