  1. Hi All! So I got back from Vacation on the 14th and have been so busy that I forgot to update! Here's how my trip went... I did a ton of walking and had a super hard time getting enough Water. However, I did carry a bottle with me at all times and drank while waiting in lines. I wore my Garmin Vivosmart the entire time and in 7 days I walked a grand total of 45 miles!! I still can't believe I walked that much, my feet however did believe it. lol The food choices weren't as difficult as I thought they would be and Disney had a lot to offer that was healthy! Which made my life a lot easier!! I did cheat a little and have popcorn, but oh well. I'm not going to beat myself up over it. Since I walked so much, I had to make sure that I kept my Protein up. I could feel when I did not eat enough protein. So my advice is to bring Jerky with you in your bag. I was on the Disney Dining plan, which of course was WAY too much food, but it came with our package for free. Now, I will say if its you and your husband I would get a Dining plan for your husband because we were able to split every single meal and both had plenty of food. I think that would save money plus no one would be starving! I did not ask for the children's buffet's since I had the dining plan, but honestly I doubt they would let you. I had a super great time and slept like a rock every night! Oh and not to mention lost 10 pounds while on vacation! Not too shabby if I do say so myself! lol
  2. Yes it is! It's horrible, but I'm going to quit complaining. I'll take all the bad taste for some weight loss! Lol
  3. So, I am 12-13 days post op from RNY.... I have such a weird taste in my mouth?! It is driving me crazy.. It makes Water taste weird and just an overall bad taste in my mouth.. It appeared around day 7 after surgery and has yet to go away! I have brushed my tongue a ton to no avail. I would like to know if others are having the same problem as me or is it just me?
  4. I had the same exact problem for the first week! I thought I was going to go crazy sleeping on my back(I'm a belly sleeper). Now, I have found that I can sleep on my side *if* I barely put the edge of pillow under my stomach to kind of stop that pulling sensation.
  5. I just had my surgery on 9/24 and they asked me if I wanted my valuables locked up or handed to my husband.. so you can get your valuables locked up.
  6. Oh jeez that has to suck!! I haven't stopped either, but I figured it's because of the blood thinner they gave me in the hospital..
  7. I started my period the day before surgery... go figure! I have pcos and it comes randomly. Lol... anyway. I had some cravings before the surgery, but after the surgery I definitely did not..
  8. This is exactly my situation! I'm a belly sleeper and I'm having that same pain under the big incision on the right side. So annoying.. I'm only 5 days post op, and have just been trying to wait it out.
  9. I'm only 5 days post op, but I haven't had any cravings yet. I'm sure they are to come though!
  10. Thank you all!! My surgery went well! This was first surgery ever and I was scared to death. The first day was rough but has gotten a lot better! Those gas pains are something serious.. lol
  11. On my way to the hospital to have surgery! I'm so nervous and excited!! See yall on the flip side!
  12. Yes.. my insurance required it. They denied my pre determination the first time and then approved it the second time.. I was approved on 9/15 and I have my surgery tomorrow (9/24).. It's pretty normal to have to get a pre determination if you have bcbs
  13. @@drmeow Yes, 30 grams of Protein a day. Crazy huh? lol. I was reading where everyone else can have multiple protein shakes a day and I'm over here like.. must be nice! haha But I'm doing okay, I have had my moments of weakness where I wanted a salad or something, but fought the temptation.
  14. @@Knitchic Congratulations on your new journey!! I'm glad surgery went great! Keep us updated.
  15. Hi! Sometimes it can take longer depending on what exactly you were being tested for and where you had your labs done. Like with my current hospital and doctor they can see my stuff immediately because the systems are integrated together. However, my previous doctors and hospital were not like that so it took a week or 2 to find out the results.
  16. I'm doing better now. I mean it's still tough, but I think my body has decided we just don't eat anymore. LOL The only times I get really hungry is at night and I think that is because I used to be a really big night time eater. TOMORROW is the big day and I'm super excited!
  17. Im having surgery Thursday and have planned to only take a week off. I'm having the RNY too, I think it will be doable but everyone is different. If you message me after a few days of surgery I could try to give you an idea as to how I'm doing so you can kind of gauge it.
  18. It sucks! I'm so hungry and ill. I think my husband would stick me out on the lawn if he could. Lol. My doctors office has me on a max of 30 grams daily of liquid Protein and I'm just starving! I just needed to complain for a moment. Ugh... I only have 2 more days and then it's Surgery day!! Something to look forward to.
  19. My Surgery is the 24th and my surgeon told me if I had a fever or became sick to let him know. I believe they would reschedule you, because they don't want things to get infected, but don't quote me 100% on that. Hopefully you just don't feel well from the liquid diet or your nerves.
  20. I'm so glad you posted this question! I'm 25 and this is my first major surgery and I am just like "what do I do?". My surgery is this Thursday(9/24)!! AHH.. I bet you are excited too!
  21. I had not thought about eating with my left hand! That's a great tip!
  22. I found an app and it's called "slow mow eating timer".. it was .99 but I feel like $1 is definitely worth it! I have been using it all day to really concentrate on eating slower and I have to say this app is quite impressive. You can set it to make a sound, buzz, or flash on your screen which is helpful if you're out and about. I tried the bariatric timer, but wasn't feeling the whole donut bit. Lol
  23. My insurance denied the first time because my Surgeons office left out some important documents, but then we resubmitted on 9/4 and I got my approval yesterday. Like, Lose it Kacy said it, i think it depends on how many surgeons are there.. I am actually having surgery next Thursday (9/24), but I think it's partly because of the size of the practice and I had everything finished a while ago.
  24. My surgery date is the date before yours on 9/24! I started my liquid diet today and all I can think about is food. Lol
