Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

I'm having my surgery Oct 5th my per op class is Sept 23rd. I'm getting super excited only thing that worries me is missing classes I just enrolled into two classes and they start the 14th I'll be missing 3 classes plus a whole week of surgery. Hoping my teachers will be okay and let me work it out so I don't fall behind or get knocked for missing class.

@@395Ron, I KNOW at some point you are going to be well enough to read this. You will get through this. You will conquer this. You will heal completely and you will thrive. You have so many people pulling for you, praying for you, treating for you, and holding you up. We've got you.

Hi This is Ron wife Sherry. . I wanted to post on here to you guys it was very important to him that I post to you guys so I wanted to make sure I didn't forget.

He has gone thru the surgery and the day after he was doing great but started throwing up that night so they did a cat scan to see why and he had a kink in the intestine so they took him back to surgery and fixed that however while in surgery not sure if it was the 1st or 2nd surgery but he got sick while in surgery and tried to throw up but couldn't with the tu e down his throat and it went back down into his lungs this is called aspiration. It is very serious condition where the acids from the stomach contents can burn and damage the lungs which is what happened. He was taken to another hospital for a few hours then flown to the university of Maryland shock tram unit (LUNG UNIT) he has been on a machine that pumps blood thru his lungs to help heal his lungs . And is on oxygen to help him breathe. He is in very serious condition however we are hopeful that he will recover. But it will take time we are not sure how long .so if you don't hear from him that is why..if you have any questions please email me at slyliston2000@yahoo.Com as I won't see any posts here to tell you how he is doing and I'm not sure who all he was friends with and please pray for him that he gets thru this ty all so much for the support you all gave him during his research of his surgery and helping him prepare for it :)

I am praying! Prayers for a quick recovery Ron!!

@@395Ron I simple came here to say I had my surgery and in spite of the lack of post, did indeed live. It was a half tongue in cheek post. Wishing you all the best, and a rapid recovery.

@@ChunkyChocolate Walk walk walk walk walk. Cough cough cough cough . Bring all the drainage up and get rid of it. I did not follow that advice and it landed me three extra, days in the hospital with fluid on my lungs

So sorry, @edie09371… are you home now? I've gotten lost in the posts, so I am sorry if I missed that part…

@@395Ron and family. Ron is and will remain in all my prayers. I believe he will overcome this and be so successful in his journey.

I believe I am finally back on track! It was a pretty rough go for a few days but today has been a much better day. I have managed to get about 45 grams of protein in so far but having more trouble with water. The bloat is awful. I swear I can feel fluid backing up my throat. I know I need to be moving around more but have created a "nest" in my living room and tend to stay there a lot. Do you both have facebook? I tend to be on there a lot and would love to keep up with you both there as well!! My facebook is Edie Smith Steer edie091371@yahoo.com

How are you both doing?

@ the rest of our October family. Sorry I fell off the radar. I suppose it was a little harder process then I thought it would be. I hope you are all wonderful and I hope you each are finding your way successfully thru your journeys.
