Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

I'm having my surgery Oct 5th my per op class is Sept 23rd. I'm getting super excited only thing that worries me is missing classes I just enrolled into two classes and they start the 14th I'll be missing 3 classes plus a whole week of surgery. Hoping my teachers will be okay and let me work it out so I don't fall behind or get knocked for missing class.

Quick update. It's been one week since my rny bypass. I *was* diabetic. My blood sugar is now completely normal, and I've been off medication since 2 days before my surgery. This was my primary goal. I'm overjoyed, to say the least! So is my primary doctor!

Hi! - Surgery date is October 19th!! Got my approval this past week. Started my liquid diet this morning - have pre-op class on Tuesday and pre-op appt w/ doctor on Thursday. Thinking this week will fly by....

Wait, I stocked up on premier shakes. I thought that was my go-to drink for right after surgery. That and water. Am I wrong?

I've been doing my premier shakes since I came home. Hard to get them down, but I'm chugging along!

my post op plan calls for one shake per day, sipping throughout the day but it doesn't count as a meal. I will have 5 1-2 oz meals of full liquids throughout the day. I mostly bought my cases of premier protein for my pre op diet, but I can save them and use them in the future as well.

Just wanted to to share a product I found. It's protein water called Protein2O!!! 16.9oz, 15g protein per bottle, 70 calories. It's amazeballs!!! My favorite it Berry Splash, then Grape Splash, then the Lemon Splash. You can kinda taste the protein in the lemon, but it's not undrinkable. I found them at my local grocery store Kroger's, but you can also find them at Walmart and Vitamin World.

Congratulations @Deneah. That must be a wonderful feeling? I've been reading from so many posts that it can be so very different to keep your numbers under control.

I added all the newbies to our October list of Surgery's. If you would like to be added to our list just go to Pre-Operation gastric bypass surgery Questions & Answers & in the Topic " October list of Surgery's" leave me a message in the thread that you would like to be added. Check to see if you are already there, & if I missed you!.

How much are those? I thought I was only person that says amazeballs. Lol

Well everyone I am seriously hoping that today will be the day I get to go home from the hospital. All my tests have come back looking good so hopefully I will be released. I am actually feeling pretty good today and the pain is definitely abating. I hope you are all doing great.
