A few pre-op pics. The picture in the orange is what did me in emotionally...didn't even recognize myself.
  5. I technically wasn't given an amount. I'm down #40 in 6 weeks. My goal is 40 more. My doc felt I'd lose about 70 -/+. I barely met the 40 BMI requirements to begin with
  6. I pretty much have been the same do I carefully measure my portions according to my eating plan and only eat that amount. I had surgery 10/22 and I've lost 35. But I've come to realize that measuring every thing I eat is going to be my way of life. I feel content.. Not hungry, not full. Talk to your doctor too, you may have something else going on
  7. @@miiasan I'm so happy to hear that!!! I had my surgery on 10/22 and I'm Honestly starting to freak out!! Was planning to call office tomorrow. I lost 14# right off and now only a pound since. I'm exercising all the time and measuring my portions precisely. Maybe I'm overly anxious?? Lol But thank you for sharing... I feel much better!!!
  8. I see so many of you got pain meds ???? that was not an option for me other than Tylenol. I finally begged for one dose but then I noticed it didn't work for me ... Oh well lol I'm Home and feel great other than a twinge here & there. I'm more concerned I don't feel that 'fullness' after drinking & eating. Started mushy foods last night and I don't feel any different after eating that before. That scares the crap out of me!!!
  9. Love hearing all your stories!!! Thanks for sharing!! My time will come for sure ????
  10. @Scubav85... I plan to wait as well I had just happened to meet him. I'm ready to date emotionally but it's hard to go on a date and can only drink water & not eat lol I'm only 7 days post of ????
  11. Well... My guy turned out to be a schmuck!!! Lmao thank god I saw those shark teeth ahead of time!! ????????
  12. @likeadiamond- I had the RNY. I totally over did it today though... I'm hurting
  13. @likeadiamond- no pain meds prescribed here. My office doesn't believe in them unless extreme cases. Extra strength Tylenol is all. I feel like I've done a million sit ups.. ugh
  14. Surgery went well on the 22nd but the pain has been rough. I'm not having trouble with trouble with fluids and started my protein last night. What are others pain levels? Sleeping is rough and getting up & down is uncomfortable. I'm walking lots too. Not sure what my tummy feels.... It's hard to explain- between hungry, queasy, etc.
  15. Was hoping to go home today... But my gas pockets are so bad and I can't pass any. I literally feel like I'm in labor!! Trying a new med tonight so fingers crossed!!!
  16. I had surgery yesterday and I can say the pain is unreal!' My MD doesn't use any pain meds except extra strength Tylenol!! Ugh
  17. Had my surgery yesterday... It went smooth. The pain is really bad though... I think gas wise, so I hope to go home Sat or Sun. Having an ultra sound later tonight to be sure it's nothing more. Hope all the others are doing well!!
  18. @OKCPirate... He & I have developed a nice friendship & dating routine so far. I'm not getting hopes up for a lifetime commitment etc as I know this surgery will bring so many changes & emotions. But he's so supportive ( he had a close friend go thru it) and right now things work nicely for what we both need I'm blessed with amazing guy friends and all their support. As they constantly tell me they support me but don't see why I'm doing it. Lol
  19. I just ended my subscription to match. I did meet a nice guy who is very accepting of my upcoming surgery this week....although we shall see how far we progress once we 'really' start dating and move forward. But...I am optimistic!!
  20. I bought Pure unflavored protein powder & plan to add it to everything I can initially... Drinks, puréed & soft foods etc
  21. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!!! Wishing you the very best!!!! Keep us posted!!!
  22. I wanted to share something I find sweet- I've been divorced a bit and have never had trouble w/ dating. But..after ending a long term r-ship last winter I've not dated much at all waiting for this journey to start before putting myself out there so to speak. Well....I met a wonderful man unexpectedly and I'm having surgery next week. So, I briefly stated that I was having 'abdominal' surgery and didn't say much more. He asked about my pre/post op and I shared briefly my eating will come back in stages. After a few dates he went on to say how much he enjoys our time and hopes that we continue even though I will having a surgery. I agreed, but asked for his patience etc. He then, very politely, asked if I was having a gastric surgery. I was a tad stunned....he went on to say his very close friend has recently had it and my pre/post op sounded similar. So..I let it loose and shared my story- I had nothing to loose really. He was incredibly genuine in his understanding and supportive (as he is a very fit man I was nervous). I almost cried. Here is someone I hardly know, who is fit and used to dating 'barbie girls' so to speak and he was accepting of me as I was. He wet on to say my smile, intellect, and personality are what he was drawn to and my 'body' wasn't what he was most concerned about. I know this was a long post...but I just had to share. It's really boosted my confidence and knowing my weight loss journey is truly about myself and not caring what other think
