Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

I'm having my surgery Oct 5th my per op class is Sept 23rd. I'm getting super excited only thing that worries me is missing classes I just enrolled into two classes and they start the 14th I'll be missing 3 classes plus a whole week of surgery. Hoping my teachers will be okay and let me work it out so I don't fall behind or get knocked for missing class.

@@guyfrom315!! Thank you!! I have been w/ this office for a while so I feel confident for the most part. Amy who does Insurance seems to feel I may have trouble getting approved so we shall see. lol

I used to do lovonox shots from a blood clot a few years back so at least I have that 'skill' hahaha!!

:)

18 hours till the big day! I'm so super excited!

Really excited for you!!! Not sure if we will hear from each other before I go in the next day so take care & see you post surgery on our journey!!! Go Sooners!

@@Newnetty, How's the optifast going? I'm starting Tuesday and a little nervous. How much weight have you lost. Same surgery date. Good luck

Hi Chell,

The optifast is ok. I'm having one shake, 1bar and one dessert a day + 140g chicken breast & 2 cups of non starch veggies + 3ltrs of water (approx 750cal all up).

I've been on it for one week and lost 6kg which is awesome. Day 2 & 3 were pretty brutal in the detox stage (caffeine & sugar withdrawals) and had a wicked headache but I feel great now :) I have to lose approx 80kg all up - so long journey ahead for me! Good luck with your journey :)

@@Newnetty I started the Optifast today. I drink 5-6 shakes a day nothing else just shakes and water. I already have a headache lol. But I know I can do it.

I will be doing 6 Atkins advantage how about you newbie

How are the shakes going today? I start tomorrow.

Day one of pre-op not as bad as I thought Hope the other 13 days go as well! Good luck tomorrow!

So I received my injury chicken protein and the unflavored ......... One you really do have to make sure it is at 140 degrees or lower or it gets weird ......... Also you have to use a lot ......... I just tried a heaping tablespoon to see how it was in chix soup honestly I didn't notice it I do wonder if I would have used the entire scoop if that would have mattered?? Anyone using these items how do you like them

@@shamel811 I have tried the Unjury chicken flavored protein & your right it does have to be about 140 to mix well. It taste ok to me but really weak. I haven't had the bypass yet so maybe it will taste different later. I like the chocolate splendor flavored Unjury. My favorite for protein drinks that I have been using along with Unjury is Premier energy shakes already made up. I buy them at Sams Club in a 12 pack. The chocolate, strawberry cream & vanilla are good. Not sure if you can drink them right after surgery but they have 30g of protein.

So surgery went well, have had abit of gas and left sided pain. It is also uncomfortable to drink. However always improving. Thanks so much for all the well wishes, you are all in my prayers
