Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

I'm having my surgery Oct 5th my per op class is Sept 23rd. I'm getting super excited only thing that worries me is missing classes I just enrolled into two classes and they start the 14th I'll be missing 3 classes plus a whole week of surgery. Hoping my teachers will be okay and let me work it out so I don't fall behind or get knocked for missing class.

In spite of my best efforts to keep my mind occupied, I am scared shitless. Not about the surgery. I've read so much about it, honestly in a pinch I could probably do it myself. It is post op that has me terrified, because I have no idea what to expect. Toss in a pinch of mental illness (I am BiPolar) and this becomes even worse.

18 hours and 50 minutes to go. Now I just need to hold it together.

Praying for everyone else in my group. I pray after you all are done, there is little pain, and your path to good health is short and painless!

My surgery is scheduled for October 28th. Pre-op on the 13 th. Very nervous. I only have one day of liquid diet right before the surgery. I'm very nervous. Scared I'm going to mess it up done how and he'll, the surgeon, well take it away. Ugh. Ready but not ready.

@@60&goin4it ty, ty, ty. I hit like 6 or 7 times :)

@@winklie this is probably going to come out the wrong way but it is nice to know we are not alone in our fears.

@@Cali_Angel Welcome!

@@edie091371 the first two weeks I was fine. At my pre-op appointment my NUT asked have I had been constipated or had diarrhea I said no. The next day I was running to the bathroom. I go between being stopped up and then very loose.

It hit me about an hour ago... I literally can not stay too far from the bathroom. I am wondering if the sugar free products (i.e. jello, crystal lite, diet v8splash and popsicles) could have anything to do with it.... this is soooo not fun!

@thinner-me. ..oh no, 1st graders and frequent bathroom breaks are not a good mix. I hope it subsides before you have to go to work!! Where are you located again?

I live about 50 miles east of St. Louis.

@@winklie Best of luck to you tomorrow!! I'm scared for the post op too!!!

@@Cali_Angel Welcome & I got you listed on our October list of Surgery's! You will do fine, all the info on here has helped me out a lot! Just knowing I'm not alone helps!!

@@thinner-me Good luck tomorrow in Class with 1st graders, hopefully it will be better before then!!! My husband & I were just in Saint Louis for a cardinal game! Thats where I was in the picture. We live in Missouri on the Arkansas Missouri border on Table Rock Lake by Branson.

Yes the bathroom issues isn't fun!! I go from one extreme to the other, taking a spoon full of miralax everyday.
