I'm feeling much better. I was released yesterday evening from the hospital. They felt I was doing pretty good so they removed the picc line. Right now just trying to stay hydrated it's so hard for me to get all my fluids in. How do you guys do it?

I've had trouble catching up with posts, @CHELLB32, but I'm so sorry to hear you've had a set back... For what reason did they need to do the picc line? Sorry if I missed the explanation... I get this thread confused with the other Oct surgery thread, lol, so sometimes miss some things...They took blood work and saw that I didn't have enough nutrition since I couldn't keep anything down. So they gave me the pic line and I receive TPN through it.

What! why?Because I wasn't getting any nutrition do to me not being able to eat or drink. I have chronic constipation which causes everything to back up which is making me nauseous all the time. They said I need to give my colon and intestines a break for a while so they are giving me everything I need through the picc line. Hopefully I will go home Monday fingers crossed. The hospital smell is starting to make me sick also. When I do go home I will have a home nurse coming to give me meds and cleaning the line.

They gave me a picc line, no eating or drinking for a month.

I've been admitted for dehydration. They are still running test. ????

could you be hitting ketosis post-surgery as opposed to pre-surgery? Sounds like "carb flu", especially with the metallic taste in your mouth…What is carb-flu? I called the doctor he was not in nor was my advocate. I'm going to the hospital now the nausea is getting worse and I'm feeling weak.

I'm 2 weeks post op and I feel sick to my stomach. I don't want to eat or drink anything and I have a nasty taste in my mouth. What could be wrong? I was fine last week. Getting scared now.

Thanks guys I've been getting in all my protein and fluids daily.

I'm two weeks out of surgery, how many calories should I be consuming a day? Right now I'm between 200-300 a day.

Is there a app I can use to remind me to eat/ drink and takes meds.

I was told I would because of all the fluids they pump into you during recovery to keep you hydrated. But when I was weighted I wore the exact amount I wore day of surgery 218.

I'm 3days post op so I'm right with you, everyday is getting better. Be strong I'm praying for a speedy recovering for the both of us.. Yay we did it ????????????????????

I was discharged last night and oh boy for the first time I passed gas and have been since. I took everyone's advice and took the gas x and it's working wonders for me. You should try them. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Thanks I will start using them then. Congrats on your husband date???????????? glad everything went well today. Yes I would be ok if it wasn't for this gas other then that I have no pain.

Getting discharged right now, I really hope the gas comes out when I get home. This is driving me crazy. Do you guys know if gas x will work?

I didn't really pass the gas until I got home and I walked A LOT. Once relief comes though, it's a sweet sweet relief. It'll happen. It's horrible until it does. Be strong!Thanks because it's making me miserable
