    October List of Surgery's

Hey guys! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I'm at 163. Total of 62lbs lost and 43 more to go till I reach my goal weight. I've had struggles and stalls but trying to stay motivated. Really hard with schedule to get enough exercise in. And to remember to take my vitamins. Hopefully it will get easier. Going through the hair loss stage right now too. Glad to see everyone on here. You guys keep me going!

    October List of Surgery's

My B12 level was really high too but it's probably because I'm taking two B12 vitamins a day. NP told me I can cut back if I want to. It was my choice but definitely need to up my Vitamin D.

    October List of Surgery's

I just had my two month post op on Thursday. I'm down 45 pounds and vitamin levels look good except for my vitamin D. Have to up that like a lot! I can't see the difference in the mirror but can tell in the way clothes fit. I am down two pant sizes which is great. I have about 55-60 pounds left to go until I reach my ideal weight. Glad to see that everyone else is doing well. ????

    Change of plans..

Thanks for your response! Honestly- when I compare RNY to the sleeve, there's not a huge difference in severity. If anything- I feel more at ease not having 85% of an organ completely removed from my body. My biggest concern about RNY was pregnancy. I suffer from infertility which is caused by my PCOS- but my surgeon reassured me today that pregnancy is still safe after 18 months and nothing for me to fret over. The rerouting of my intestines is a little nerve wracking as well. He also said the recovery times were the same. How long were you out of work? I was originally anticipating 2 weeks for the sleeve. My employer is a gem and has been incredibly supportive of my journey so far, but I would hate to tell him I need more time off. BUT- I'm 27 years old and I need to get my life together before it's too late. When discussing my family medical history with my surgeon today, he was absolutely flabbergasted at the amount of heart disease. My father alone had 3 heart attacks which required 5 bypasses with his last one. He basically told me that with my genetics, I've been set up for failure. Lol. I laugh- but it's really not funny. It scares the heck out of me..I am 1 month post-op and I am very happy with my decision. I am down 30lbs! I researched for months before deciding to go with the RNY. Not going to lie, you are sore like after any surgery but I was back to work after 2 weeks. Good luck to you! Let us know when you are scheduled.

Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

I've been doing ok. Having a hard time getting my fluids in. Even a sip hurts. And lacking energy. I'm hoping after my appt today I will be able to start introducing pureed foods. But on the plus side I'm down 15 pounds since the surgery. How about you?I haven't weighed in since the saturday before surgery. I'm doing a lot better today than 2 days ago. I try to sip constantly and really schedule eating, which has been a battle because I go to school fulltime and keeping a protein shake cold is hard. I'm still on shakes and haven't transitioned to any other foods but I do have broth and jello if I need a flavor switch. I walk constantly but plan on going to the gym tonight to get on a treadmill. Today I'm going to try to get some protein20 which will help me get to my protein goal a lot easier and worry free. Sent from my SM-N915P using Tapatalk Good for you! I've noticed on here that it seems like everyone's process before and after surgery are quite different. Like me, my first week was strictly sugar free clear liquids and now this week until week 5 I go to pureed and soft proteins like shakes and mashed up egg whites and stuff. Guess all the end results are the same right? Keep doing what you're doing and hope to keep in touch throughout this journey!

    Sip

They say sip sip sip bevause you will get full from just a sip of water so it will feel like it takes forever to get all your fluids in. At least that's what I've noticed with myself. Good luck! You'll do great!

    October List of Surgery's

I have post op on Thursday. Just barely getting my energy back, but my last night I started getting a burning feeling in my stomach near the left side just when it was starting to not feel so sore. All I can say us I'm so tired of liquids. Lol... hoping to get to advance to soft/pureed foods after Thursday. And I agree on the gas, but I have yet to have a bm which kind of concerns me.
