I was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri last week. I am still pre-op, I go to meet with my surgeon and set up my surgery date tomorrow!!! Woot!! Anyways has anyone been diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri and how has it been for you since your surgery? Have your symptoms gone away? Were you able to stop taking the medications? Any tips?

I was diagnosed last year with ptc. I stopped on my own taking sulfur meds after surgery (consult your doc) and I will go for another optic nerve pic once I hit 200 lbs. To make sure swelling down. Haven't had any headaches or vision loss since surgery

I've been diagnosed Pseudotumor

Cerebri (intercrainal hypertension) since 2005 the more weight you gain the worse it gets. I've never had problems with my optic nerve or "swelling" but retinas both have holes in them. After years of seaking treatment my doctor basically said there is nothing we can do but spinal taps when the pressure is to high. My opening pressure is always high no matter what & I always have the wooshing sound in my ears from the pressure. Daily headaches and eyes always feel swollen =(

I was diagnosed by my eye doctor many years ago, but my primary care did a CT and that didn't show anything. So not sure really. Occasionally I have headaches and it is always on the right side of my head, but I really don't know. Which specialist diagnosed you all?

I had to see an ophthalmologist, then I was referred to a neurologist. My neurologist diagnosed me. My experience with the spinal tap was HORRIBLE! My neurologist stuck me 6 times with no success, so a few days later I had to go get it done again. They radiologist was successful but the my recovery was rough. I ended up in the hospital from dehydration. I think it was a combo from the leaking spinal Fluid and starting the diamox.

@ - how horrible. Spinal taps are awful! Radiologists do a much better job actually because they do more of them. Yeah it sounds as though you did have it rough. I am so sorry you had to go through that. I just had my eyes looked at on Friday and she gave me an all clear with no mention of increased intraocular pressure which is really good. However she did have to increase my RX, I guess I am getting blind in my old age haha!!! So until, I hear differently or experience more headaches, I will just try and watch my symptoms.

Try techs didn't give enough local anesthesia then stuck far down and made me come off table. I cried whole time. Never again another spinal tap. Kinda my final events made me decide on gastric sleeve. Was never going through that again

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
