Bloomer, I started getting hungry like a week or so after surgery. It wasn't head hunger either. Like we get really hungry like our stomachs are gonna growl but they dont. It's really weird. I found myself not keeping full on Jello and broth. I don't do the shakes since they just hurt my stomach. I tried talking to the nutritionist about my stomach issues but she never tried helping me. She would just tell me what I had to do. I'm watching what I eat. And we won't gain weight or not lose any since we definitely cut our portions down. You will be amazed at how fast you get full.

Molly, did you have a private room at UC?

I did. Thank god! They are pretty big too. I wish the showers were a little bigger but West Chester is really nice and they take care of you. I was upset that Dr.Thompson never came to see me. He has his assistants or whoever they are come in. I also wanted liquid medicine like tylenol or something along those lines since pills aren't very friendly right after surgery but they wouldn't try it. They just didn't try to keep me from throwing up my iv medicines either. They just keep pushing you so you can go home pretty much. I didn't want my pain medicine or nausea medicine after all of that plus it wasn't that bad for me which they made me keep taking them. Idk. I just feel like if I was fine enough or didn't want the medicine then it should of been okay, you know? But they do come right away to help out and to make sure we are okay.

@@Tssiemer1 ~ at my last group class with Ivan and Erika, we were told we have a private room and a bed for one overnight guest if necessary. I told my husband and he said he would stay with me. I probably won't be much company for him, but hey if he wants to stay I'll be happy to have him wait on me ... Lol

@@MollyF22 ~ do you know if we are able to mix our pre-op shakes with milk? The shakes I drink are about 210 calories when mixed with 2% milk. I can reduce the calories by using skim or 1% but I like the taste of 2%. You can also mix the shakes I use (Inspire) with Water but they don't taste as good.

Yeah I've been in that hospital before. Very nice bed for guests. It comes out of the couch to make a full size bed. Or the back of the couch comes down to make a twin size bed.

Here's a pic of the guest bed.

That's my mom. She was really worried about me after my emergency gallbladder surgery.

Bloomer, we have to use 1% or skim I think as milk wise. I've never liked skim and milk doesn't sit well with me as is but I will try it again some time. I wish Protein Shakes were alot better then they are and my stomach wasn't so sensitive. The 2 week pre op is pretty hard and definitely try and eat as much as you guys can and enjoy those foods. It's only temporary though. I see Ivan on Wednesday night. I need to lose 2 more pounds and will have lost 20 pounds since I've seen them last. I hope I can do it or it happens lol.

Tssiemer, I've never been to the cheesecake factory. Well I haven't ate there. Only the cheese cake. I've heard it's really good. Maybe some day I can go there. My favorite is Longhorn and Cracker barrel.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
