Next week is four weeks. I am going to try meat. Shrimp or maybe salmon and veggies (zucchini or spinach) to start... I don't feel full with these soups but I eat about 4oz then just stop. Get about 45g of protein. My problem is the time before and after eating of no wAter it's hard to get it all in. Nervous about actually eating! Especially since I don't feel full. 4 weeks out anyone tried salad? What about crackers with tuna?

My plan says I can't have salad and raw crunchy vegetables until month 4 post op. They said that the stomach is healing and it needs time to heal properly to avoid complications. I thought there would be some consensus amongst Drs. and Nutritionists and have been very shocked to see people 1 and 2 weeks out talking about eating a portion of a hamburger. You would think there would be a protocol that they would all follow.

Hopeandagony I'm with you on being afraid of getting sick. I was hesitant to have this surgery, as I have a phobia of throwing up. So far, it hasn't happened. I'm 6 weeks out. I never eat more that 3-4 Oz at a time though and strictly abide by the drinking rules.

I was on liquids only for 1month. Now I am on soft foods for 6 weeks, meaning all my food has to be puréed. My Dr is pretty strict and that's ok by me. I will be 5 weeks out on Wednesday. I can only eat 2 oz at a time. My first day when I was so worried about my stomach I guess I didn't purée long enough plus I tried to get closer to 3 oz. just had to learn my limits. I definitely cannot have any veggies for now and won't be able to have fruit until I lose my weight. I have to really work at getting my protein plus water because of the 30 minute rule. I set a timer usually so I remember. So glad I did this! My energy level is higher than it has been for years!

I am purely going by the rules too. 4 Oz is max according to my doctor so even if I don't feel full there I stop. My Dr's program advances quickly. I did puree the first 2 weeks after surgery. Then I saw him, was moved to soft meats, and due to my severe diarrhea he told me to completely stop protein shakes so since week 2 I'm not had a shake. I was worried about not getting my protein in but have found ways to make it work. I certainly could eat more. How much more though, who knows. I don't want to push it, get sick, or hurt. Next week I am on full proteins and can add veggies. At 2 months I can add fruits.
