Hi Everyone! I'm New!

  • Popular Post

Hey, my name is Jasmine and I'm so excited to have found such a great group of people willing to share their stories.

Well my journey began 1 1/2 years ago when I was approved for the rny. I was devastated when I was told I had to drop 85 lbs before my surgeon would even consider operating. I threw up my hands and gave up. Within a month I had packed on another 27 lbs, tipping the scale at 519. I was embarrassed, depressed and only had one option, LOSE THE WEIGHT!!! In February I dedicated myself to eating healthy and exercising faithfully. And by June I was down 90lbs pounds.

So, here I go I'm ready for surgery. But here comes another road block. There's a glitch with my insurance that delays me another month.

So my big surgery day is here June 22nd 2015. The day I've been anticipating!!!! I'm wheeled to the OR, put to sleep only to be awaken moments later to find I did not have my surgery do to my cardiac rhythm changing. My surgeon canceled my surgery until a cardiologist cleared me. I was devastated. I wanted to give up completely but I had to stand firm in my faith.

Needless to say, my cardiologist cleared me. I was back on the operating table on July 20 2015. Glory be to God. I'm currently 7 days post op and in a lot of pain but I know it will getter better. I hope this encourages anyone that has been waiting months, years to have this surgery. Just keep the faith and keep persevering!!!!

Wow! Good for you!!!! You clearly got your head in the game. Losing all that weight pre-surgery is no small task. It's great to see how positive you've remained despite the bumps in the road you've encountered. Welcome to the family! :D

Thank you so much!!!! It was extremely hard but I knew I had to have this surgery and I was determined that 90 lbs was not gone get in my way!!!! Almost 3 weeks post op and down 35lbs since surgery!!! So excited!!!!

Wow! That's awesome :) how's eating going so far? Tummy doing ok? 3 weeks out I was starting to do pretty good, but there is such a wide range of how people do.

Thank you. And Congrats!!! The eating is ok. I've advanced to the purée foods and kind of trail and error. Some foods I'm able to handle. I tried chicken for the first time yesterday and got extremely sick. I definitely keep my Zofran nearby!!!

Wow very good

Thank you!!!
