Ditto for me, historically weight loss brought on increased libido...always wondered why the wife would start cooking extra caloric after a while

This was actually one of the reasons that I went through with the surgery. With my high blood pressure and medication, sex was... lacking. My drive was low, duration was short, and the intimacy was not as intense as I wanted it. At 5 months post-op, our sex life is back to our early years and just general affection between us is up again.

This is all very good news. My wife will be pleased to hear about this. I think I'll add sex to my fitness routine once I get sleeved.

How long did it take you guy's to get back in the groove after your surgery?

I was finally "in the mood" about a month out. But I had a few issues after surgery that slowed me down (partially collapsed lung and hematoma). It took me until the two month mark until my wife had to tap out. That hasn't happened in a long time!

I'm single, so I had a while before I had an opportunity, it was about month. As I kept losing weight and got stronger it kept getting better and more rigorous. Now I expect things to go for 30 minutes or more. I am only dating women who work out, because a couch potato is going to have a tough time keeping up. ;-)

How many have shown no change? Been almost 3 months since surgery and I am still "meh" <_< about it all. I know every body is different so adjustments and attitudes will change individually but there are so many who are showing positive responses I am wondering when the signs are supposed to kick in.

I've found myself having significant changes with my libido at only 100 pounds less. While marriage is marriage and the wife and I can only do it so much with our busy lives, I've found the amount of times I'd fap going from once every few weeks to at least 3 times a week. My brain/hormones are definitely nagging me a lot more. Sometimes visual stimulation can help kick start things, and once you get going again I think the body will start expecting more and start nagging you too.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
