Hello to all for those who dont know my story i had gastric bypass on Dec.31st 2014. My highest weight was 410 pounds which is so scary and horrible. The night of surgery i was down to 347 and 7 months later im down to 269 which is a total of 141 pounds ive lost in all. Of course theres way more to come this sugery was the best thing i couldve ever done for myself but anyways, back to the purpose of this post before weight loss i was a size 28 in jeans and i havent wore jeans in years. I just started agin when i had a pair of size 22 that never ever fit but one night i decided to try them on and BAM they fit. Of course i was happy and finally starting to see the weight loss with in myself. Yesterday i went shopping and decided to try on size 18 jeans and they fit me omg i felt like crying its still a big but the fact that they fit made my whole day. Im new to all of this and at times i dont feel like im losing weight so when things like this happen my world becomes a little brighter every time. I go see my surgeon on the 16th of this month cant wait to be weighed again and show him how im doing....

Congrats on your journey... I am ready to see my results. I know it takes time. So far I have been able to tolerate all the foods that I have tried. Are you able to drink soda?

You're doing amazing! I had my surgery 11/10/14. My HW was 436 DOS:417 and I am down to 280lbs. Definitely have had some stalls but weight loss is picking up again. Do you by any chance have a fit bit? I just got one yesterday and I love it. It's really motivating. :)

You are doing great, and i love your positive attitude! I started at the same point as you. My hw was 439 and the day of surgery on December 15, 2015 my weight was 382. Now 7 months later I'm down to 278, and I'm going shopping for new clothes soon, and I have no idea where to start.

What an awesome feeling!! I too love shopping now and can't wait to buy jeans again. Funny story my old jeans that fit now are bell bottoms and can no longer be worn outside LOL.

For the first six months i shopped at thrift or consignment shops. Sizes changed so frequently that i didn't want to spend too much money.

I encourage everyone to shop at thrift stores because your sizes will be changing . I went from a size 32 pants to a size 12 pants now .

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
