So I am hoping today was the last day ever that I had to ask for a seat belt extender in the airplane (with I swear everyone staring). It was like when I asked for it- the needle dragged across the record, the spot light was on me and everything else was dark, and I was speaking through a bullhorn. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating but that's what it felt like. Then everyone's eyes looking at mine like please don't sit next to me. Not drinking anything in plane in case I had to pee and jam into the tiny toilet. Taking up part of my sons seat with him throwing a fit mommy why can't I sit near the window. Couldn't really say because mommy is too fat and needs part of your seat. Ughhhhh! Surgery is July 29. Couldn't be sooner!!!!!

Good luck with your sleeve and the wonderful life you will have in front of you!

I have had plenty of those types of flights and it's not nice at all. :(

@@doubledinfla Oh my do I know exactly how you feel! Actually only had to ask for a seat belt extender once. It was the last time I flew in May and I immediately came home and began my weightloss surgery journey.

I am a frequent flier and always fly Southwest Airlines. With Southwest it is open seating...so you pick your seat. I am usually one of the first on and pick an aisle seat. I watch as person after person passes me and doesn't make eye contact. Unless it is a completely full flight no one ever sits next to me. Can't wait until I am not a freak show on an airplane!

Good luck with your journey!

I never asked for a seat belt extender. I fake clicked my seat belt! :-) My gut covered the seat belt so well that the stewardess could not see if it was secured or not..

Omg! I got caught doing that last year. The flight attendant made a big deal about it. Then screamed up to the attendant in front -hold on I need to get an extender. It was so embarrassing, since then I just ask when I walk in.... :0

Love the pic btw lol

You have described exactly how truly awful air travel can be for the obese. It's so degrading!

Your days of having to stress over that anymore are numbered. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. It'll be here before you know it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
