As soon as I progressed to regular cooked foods (4 1/2 weeks) I had chili the same day. The only spice that has given me any trouble is jalepeno.

Spices and citrus never a problem. I ate spicy things as soon as I could. Love em. Not an issue. Apples, on the other hand, cause horrible heartburn. Go figure.

I ate Shelly's Ricotta Bake (marinara sauce and Italian spices) the first day I could move to mushy foods - Day 15 post-op. I have also had some Siracha spice on some items because I was craving spicy. :D No issues for me - yet....

No issues with spicy here either...Been adding in regular foods for a week now, only issue so far was with cucumbers...will try those again later down the line. Just try a little and wait to see how your tummy reacts.

2 weeks. As soon as I was on purees I was adding in tomato, citrus and spices, especially hot sauce. I'm a sriracha addict. I like my spice.

I ried regular tomato sauce soon when I was on solids and did fine. I'm 9 mos. out, though, and I still can't eat even mild salsa. I tried it again the other week---nope. Terrible heartburn even though I'm on Nexium. Guess I just can't do salsa!

I ate chili when I was toward the middle of week 2 without Beans. I eat tomatoes every day now and I'm on week 5. No problems with them.

I didn't eat spicy foods till I was about 6-8 weeks out.. As long as I took my prevacid then I was ok..
