Ready to Get Back On Track

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone! I was banded in 8/14...lost 35 lbs and gained 20 back. I am on a medication for depression which I struggle with that causes excessive weight gain which has been hindering my progress with the band. I currently weigh 230 lbs. My goal is to get under 200 while being on my medication. Am ready to get back on track and log daily on My Fitness Pal and exercise 3-4 times weekly. I am looking for someone to talk to who can help be a support or who also logs on MFP. Hope to hear from you soon :) ~Rebecca

Hi Rebecca, congratulations on all! I'm not on MFP right now but have been in the past. Just wanted to give a shout-out. You're in good company. Medication can be such a drag but your body will get the right idea. I have exercised for years (arthritis) but I think I was just under what I needed for my body to get the response going. I was sure I'd never have an endorphin high, that I just wasn't wired that way. Well I can and do now but I have to go four miles (I'm a walker); three wasn't hacking it. And I still have to make myself do it even though it feels good after. One thing that helps me is putting my arms up over my head in that crossing the finish line pose -- yippee! I watched a Ted Talk about how that creates positive messaging. So pat yourself on the back, tell yourself you're great (you are!) and put those arms up in the air. Then go exercise!

Hi! Cheers to getting back on track! I too am taking medication for depresion/anxiety and it has not been my only reason for unsuccess, but I too am getting back on the bandwagon. I am excited to put myself and my health back in the forefront of my mind. I just started with MFP, and I will be working out at least 3 times per week. I have a four miler I signed up for months ago on Saturday! Good luck! Let me know if you would like to cheer each other on.

Ditto, ditto, ditto...same issues. Meds for anxiety, arthritis, lost 40 lbs, put 30 back on. Soooo need to get back on track. Death in family 2 years ago did a real number on me. I'm ready to get back to looking after myself. Spring is here, sun is shining,. I haven't checked into this website for a couple of years. No regrets just time to get my sh* t together!! Good luck to you all.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
