Recommended Posts

I am feeling great!!! Just about three weeks post op and today was the first day I got up and cleaned and did yard work. I had to force myself to do it but I have just been laying around and I cannot take it anymore! Felt good! I am super tired of full liquids but get to start soft foods Monday!!

Update. Still feeling great and losing weight. Just started puréed stage and it's great. Been enjoying poached eggs and avocado. Taco Bell pintos and cheese were good too. Found hot teas are a great way to get liquids so I'm staying hydrated. Just trying to increase Protein. Have my first follow up Tuesday so I'll see what the doctor says. 19 days post op and down 40 since March. Hope everyone is still feeling and doing well!

Hi everyone, I know I'm new to the board and a little late on the uptake, but I also was sleeved June 8th. How's everyone feeling? What are you eating at this point? I'm doing good, I just don't really have any energy! I think that is in part due to the extremely low caloric intake. Hoping to regain some energy soon though.

Natalie

How are you feeling?

OMG Mel!! I know what you mean about the purée stage.... It was glorious to get there and come off all liquids!! LOL!! I'm so glad you are doing well and losing!! I am going to try hot tea because I am having a hard time getting in liquids now that I'm back at work. What are some of your favorite kinds of hot tea?

I like green tea with a drop of honey and lemon middle day. "Constant comment" is a tea by bigelow brands that I drink occasionally and I have a sleepy time(it will put you to sleep) tea that I like also by bigelow. Before surgery I would drink celestial seasons brand they have tons of flavors. How's your energy level? I'm off for the summer so I haven't been hitting the physical activity hard. I have started taking walks hoping to lengthen them to 30minutes then an hour soon.

I'm scheduled for 1:15pm on Monday. A little nervous but ready to go. Anyone have a suggestion for a good Protein shake/brand? I really have never liked any I have tried over the years. Also anyone else having one next week?

Mine is scheduled for July 6th. I'm super excited and a little nervous.

I'm actually feeling great. I've been eating soft foods with ease, still losing weight although I had a 4 day stahl, which was discouraging, but we got past that. Thank you for asking!

I'm so glad you are feeling well. I struggle to get my liquids in as well, so I started doing some iced teas etc. adding hot teas is a great idea as well. I'm going to have to try the pintos and cheese, sounds so good. It just feels good to eat real food right? Have a great day!

Day two. Struggling to get fluids and very little pain. Gas bubbles are no joke! But it was short lived. Also had the dry heaves for a few minutes last night. All in all it's very manageable. Been walking since I came from surgery.

Gas pains are no jokes! I felt them at home! I thought two Olympic teams the USA and China were playing for the gold. I, too, hate Protein Shakes. I think "Premier Protein" is the shake for me. The big issue is getting the fluids down ALL 64 oz in a day! I had my sleeve on the 22nd of June.

I was sleeved Tuesday 6/23 and am losing almost 3 pounds a day. I came home on Wednesday and I weighed 264.8 and Sunday morning (today) I weighed 253.1 I have struggled with energy and cannot stand a Protein Shake - have enjoyed high Protein milk. I am on puréeds today but have only had 8oz of milk and one cup of coffee. Might try cream of wheat after while. Walking 6,000 steps on my Fitbit everyday. Going pretty good so far!

Hi..

1 day before you. Are you having problems keeping your fluids 64 oz? It doesn't seem like you are. I have walked in the house, but that's it. I drove yesterday. I'm weak! I'm also very jittery. Can you give me your schedule for Water, Protein, and moment? I'd like a sample to gauge myself.

Fluids have not been a problem getting them in. I drink at least 16 oz of milk a day -G2 Gatorade, Water, had ice tea last night , will have one cup of coffee in morning. I am only taking in about 40 grams of Protein a day is I am having trouble with Protein Shakes. I can't drink a lot of volume at one time but it is getting easier to drink. Have walked 6k steps to everyday since Wednesday. Trying to get up to 8k today since I started puréeds. Just had cream of wheat and could only eat a little more than 1/2 a package. I have went on two small walks today and am about at 2 miles. I have to get fluids in pretty soon as I am thirsty.

I hate milk and Protein shakes! I'm in real big trouble. I'm thinking about blending a Protein Bar with some Water. Lol. I'm just so terrified of throwing up. I got to stop being a weenie. Tomorrow, I am going to walk at the gym. I will stop if I feel weak. My days of superwoman are over. I realized that I don't have super powers and I don't have to impress anyone not even myself!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
