My dieticians directions was to add healthy carbs in to my diet after I had lost 75% of my weight. I'm now in maintenance phase. I do have special K banana nut Protein oatmeal. Check your instructions or ask your surgeon/dietician.

oatmeal was on my list of approved foods at the puréed stage. I added Protein to it. I don't eat it regularly only because I get tired of the same things.

I do like a light yogurt with Protein granola in it. You can find some good granolas out there that taste great and have low sugar and over 10 grams of protein.

Unfortunately I cannot do eggs so I find other things.

Now that I'm close to goal, I have started eating a few more carbs, including oatmeal for Breakfast once in a while. I'm having fun with some overnight oats recipes!

Not everyone counts carbs. I don't. I have had oatmeal ever since it was allowed post-op. But I never have the instant varieties. Partly because I don't like them but also because they wouldn't make me feel full. I use large, usually stone-ground oats.

Oatmeal is good but small portion with skim milk does the job.

Where on earth do you find such a thing?! My favorite banana nut!! Plus with protein... After GB I tend to get a little extra excited when I find something that has added protein!! Lol.

I am allowed oatmeal (6 weeks out). I use regular (non-instant) oats and soak them overnight. I then cook them very mushy, with more Water, and let them sit for an hour or two on a warmer burner. Then, I put in a scoop of Protein powder and one envelope of Splenda, mix it good and then use a bit of skim milk. I can have 3/4 cup (slightly larger pouch due to size).

I have oatmeal probably every other day. I usually have the instant kind because of time and I add some unflavored Protein to it. I 've found that oatmeal helps keep me regular. I don't count carbs or calories. My nutritionist is totally fine with it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
