Hey there September sleevers! Any one out there?

Recommended Posts

Isn't it wonderful how many of us have come together because of this? I feel a real close network building here. My daughter is 25 and sees how we have come together and thinks it's great too! Only thing that would make us complete is meeting in one place at the same time. Wouldn't that be a goal for next year?

That would be awesome!!!!

I'm from the Windy City....Chicago :)

Where's my bariatric family from ???!!!

also from Chicago

Really?? cool!!!!

I'm so excited! Just got my date - Sept 8. It's exciting to see so many on this thread - gives me an extra sense of strength. I feel as though I have been waiting forever and suddenly one phone call from my surgeon's office and it is all so real so fast! BTW I'm from the Chicagoland area. Best wishes to all

Was just approved for September 14th, I have health first so I had to do 6 months. I did not have the five year weight history so my doctor just put that I have been overweight for over 10 years, hope this helps!

I had my nutrition and psych eval last week and am very excited to say that I was told I could pretty much chose my surgery date in september! I have decided to go with the middle of september, likely the 15th or 16th due to a vacation that I have at the end of august. My family just felt that being on a liquid diet while on vacation would not be a good time, and even though it is stalling me-- I agree. Until then, I have been continuing to watch what I eat, began replacing lunch with Protein Shakes (so far my favorite is EAS 100% whey Protein Powder in vanilla with unsweetened almond milk, it's 26g of Protein and 180 cals for the powder and milk), exercising and doing so much research that my eyes and brain hurt. I am getting my gallbladder removed with my sleeve procedure, so I am trying to prepare myself as much as possible before next month... I'm sure it's going to be rough.

So the gallbladder thing. Is that something you need to do or is it elective and why? Just curious.

@@sleeve_getter Yeah, it's needed. I was diagnosed with gallstones 2 years ago and put off getting the surgery because I was in college. It's a positive thing though, because statistics say that most people who have weight loss surgery end up having to have it removed soon after.

My doctor will automatically do it, if he sees that it is needed during my bariatric surgery.

Hey all,

I'm hoping for a September date. I've been jumping through the hoops (Cigna) and trying desperately to stick to the 2-shakes-3-oz-of-protein meal plan my dietician has me on. Is there a trick to making a tiny meal last 20 minutes? I'm really struggling with that.

Oh, and Twin Cities, here, by way of Houston, Salt Lake, and Spokane.

I am praying for a Sept date too. I finished my 3 month monitored weight loss with my primary Dr in July. I have my first appt with my surgeon next week. I have to have a cardiac, pulmonary, and psych evaluation before they will schedule. I plan on doing everything I can to get those done ASAP. Once those are done he is about 1 month out for surgery. I cannot wait!!

Seems like it is getting more real. My husband actually wanted to do another vacation next month and I had to laugh. Gonna be a very busy month after the 9th for me getting prepared. I don't think he realizes. Wish I had someone here to pair up with too. Tried reaching out today at Drs office, but no one acted interested. Think I will try at the meeting. Thanks so very very much to our September Sleeves! Don't know what I would do without you all!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
