Hey there September sleevers! Any one out there?

Recommended Posts

I wish someone would start a fb for September sleevers. Need lots of support. Tried to bond with some from my Drs office Thursday, but none were September sleevers

I'd be happy to start a FB group. That's a GREAT IDEA!! Let me put it together and I will let you know when it's up! Give me a bit, I have to take my puppy to the dog park! He's worse than a 5 year old right now! LOL
ok, I created the group, I need to add a picture etc., if you would like to be invited please either post your email here (if you are ok with it, or please send me a message and I will send you an invite via email! :D

@Notforthefaint....your family history story really hit home with me. My mom has been a yo yo dieter her whole life but I am way bigger than she ever has been. I'm 5'8" and 290 w BMI 44. My dad died of massive sudden heart attack at age of 43 just from mowing the yard! He was 320 pounds at that time! I'm 46 (tomorrow) so I've already outlived him by 3 years. I found out in February I have mild case of type 2 diabetes and borderline high cholesterol and that's a real wake up call! My son just turned 20 but he is my motivation and biggest fan. My hubby has never had a weight problem and while he does support my decision to do this, he doesn't "get" why it has to be and why I can't lose on my own. Anyway I am glad to be making some friends on this site! We all have so much in common! Getting close for me and I'm so excited!

Update: In the middle of trying to figure out when I can schedule, working around my work schedule and our vacation plans, and not hearing back from the surgery scheduler....my husband has now been hospitalized for 2 weeks. We are 500 miles from home. He has had 4 procedures, and now will have another surgery on Wednesday. The scheduler FINALLY called 2 days ago, (a month after approval), and I still have no idea when I can schedule. If my husband is released next week, he still won't be able to drive for probably a month. He will be ok, but this is a recurrence of something he fought for 3 years that we thought was over a year ago.

I feel incredibly selfish saying this, but I am considering going with a friend while my husband is recovering. I have worked so hard to get here....and I spent years taking care of him. I need to take care of me.

My sleep study was last night, interesting experience. My tech didn't wake me up to put on a cpap, but that doesn't mean I don't have sleep apnea. Won't know for 3-4 days, hopefully sooner. I may have to come back for a second study, but sleep with a cpap.

Just had the Unjury chicken broth for lunch. Good stuff. Liked the unjury, ordered the unflavored. Also ordered another kind that's cake batter flavored, will report when I try.

I had my EGD last Thursday and I was nervous because I really have never had anything done under sedation. It was piece of cake. Walked out in 2 hours feeling perfectly normal. Had lunch w my mom right after leaving surgery center. Not even a sore throat.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
