Dr. Ariel Ortiz at the OCC

I've read mostly positive posts about Dr. Ortiz and OCC on this and other forums. A few people don't seem to like his "celebrity" status and I did find some older complaints about their bands. Anyone out there with bad experiences or complications with their sleeves from him?

Dede that's exactly why I chose not to go through my insurance because I felt like that would/could possibly happen and I figured by the time I jumped through all the hoops they wanted me to with all of the testing they wanted Preop all of the copays would add up to just a bit less than I would be spending going out of the country. And I would be well into the weight loss process too when I would have still been waiting. It just didn't make any sense to me. I'm happy I chose my choice. It worked for me.

He was Jamie! I think I'm going to do a testimonial for the occ. I sent lots of pics too. @@rhoste I will PM you.

thanks barb.... Having trouble with site ... Email me at rhoste@shaw.ca

Hi! I tried to reply to the message but this ap just freezes for me ???? I can't wait to hear all about it! Everything's good on my end minus a bit of dehydration but that's my own fault. Hope you're well!

@@FancyCakes are you going to OCC? My surgery is June 4, so if you are, we'll definitely be there at the same time. :)

Hi Julie - yes, I will see you there! You'll be one day ahead of me. My husband and I are coming from Idaho. Would be great to keep in touch.

I have been trying to discourage my husband from coming, We live in Arizona so I think I will just drive down. I think Larry will not have enough to do to keep him out of my hair!

Wow! Idaho. That seems so far away. It would be fun to meet you. I will look for you in TJ

Julie

@@Gaelsmom This whole 200+ page thread is full of everyone's personal experiences from having surgery at OCC. I highly recommend you go through and try to read the whole thread. I know there is a LOT to get through, but I definitely found reading the full thread to be very helpful in my decision making process.

This whole topic is hugely informative and well worth the time to read. It will answer just about every question you can think of and then some, from planning to post op.
