The perfect morning cup of coffee....I wish

I'm in Kansas. It's raining and dreary and cool. I'm up, my husband is sleeping in. My yorkie (Lucy) is snoring at my feet, and I am craving the perfect cup of coffee. I would settle for the perfect cup of decaf coffee. I almost brewed it, but I got out my bariatric bible that the nutritionist gave me, and it clearly states to wait 2 months. UGH!!!!! So, I'm sipping the perfect bottle of natural spring Water instead. When did YOU have your first cup of coffee or decaf after your sleeve surgery?

No restrictions on coffee at all. In fact it was listed with liquids on discharge. I had my first cup less than a week after surgery. Strong & black. No problems at all.

One of life's great joys! LOL

I was back on decaf within a few weeks, Caffeinated within 6 months. Today, my "protein'd latte" is my favorite treat of the morning. 1 cup of really good coffee with a scoop of vanilla whey and a shake of cinnamon mixed in via shaker. IF you try this in the future, be advised, YMMV with Protein in hot liquids. Too hot and you'll end up with a chunky mess. Also, hot liquids in the shaker are volatile! Lid on tight, shake once or twice and burp it, repeat till mixed. God luck!

OH! @@bikrchk I learned all about the volatility of hot liquids in shakers years ago!! lol But thanks for the reminder!

Meh... I had my first cup of coffee around 3 weeks out. I could only do half strentgh and I use splenda. But it tasted fabulous. I'm now at week 10 and have my normal cup of regular strength Kona coffee in the morning and love it.
