Hello! Sorry for the delay, but I find it hard to get back to the sites where I've posted.

I was banded on the 24th, and I'm doing really good. It was a lot easier than I expected. I went in at 12:30, and was home by 6:00. I went back to work yesterday, and driving was great! I was ready to get out! I am still a little sore, but other than that, doing fine.

How is everyone else doing?

I was banded on Aug 21 and now I am back to my old self, except for tenderness around my port area.

Hi everyone,

I just found this site today. I was banded on 8/29 (3 days ago) by Dr. Alan Geiss in Syosset, NY. I am feeling pretty good right now -- a little bit sore, but no terrible pain.

This morning was a little bit rough, however, since its my first day back on "full liquids". I had about 5 oz. of Medifast and had a terrible feeling of being overfull. It took about 20 minutes and a lot of walking for it to pass, and now I'm a little scared to try it again. According to my nutritionist, I am supposed to have four 8-oz portions of Medifast per day for the next two weeks. Has anyone else run into a similar problem -- is it just because it's the first non-clear liquid (water, juice, broth, Italian ice, jell-o) that I've had in three days?

5 days post surgery was not hungry at all had to force myself to get needed nutrients down. I think it is just no real food in a few days. Give it time it will pass. You should not have any restriction right now so it should be ok

I finally have my ticker working, thanks to all how helped me. After a week since my surgery, I'm going back to work tomorrow feeling great. I went to a BBQ yesterday and eat a spoon of potato salad. I haven't thrown up yet or felt nauseous, is this normal? you hear so much about people being sick and not being able to hold food down and when you don't experience that you wonder if you are ok. The little white strips are still on and I want to take them off because I'm itchy all around the area. people are saying that I look like I lost weight already, I don't think so. I have a long way to go for that. This website has been wonderful with everyone's words of wisdom and positive attitudes so I know my journey will be easy. Thanks for all of the support

A thread for Augies, how wonderful!! I was banded on 8/24. I'm still in the liquid phase of the diet and I am dreaming of mushies, can't wait! I start nursing school on the 5th of sept. and I'm really nervous. I hope the timing of the surgery doesn't interfere with the start of my classes. I don't want to do anything to mess up the band and all the hard work i've done so far. It's hilarious, my professors told us to buy our uniforms 1-2 sizes larger because of the weight we'll gain in school. Well, that doesn't apply to me anymore, I couldn't be more excited!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL MY AUGUST BANDERS!!!

I was banded on the 30th of August. It's been uneventful, except for the gas pains in left shoulder and abdoman/side. Each day it gets better though. I've been walking a minimum of 7000 steps a day. To get a little variety in the liquid stage I've been draining broth off Soups, eating no more than two Water thinned tablespoons of sauces (so far parmegean, and spaghetti). These are treats, and have only tried it twice. Since pre-op diet a month before surgery too today, I have lost 30 lbs. I've also tried a variety of Protein Shakes (chocolate and vanilla) made with various flavors of Crystal Light, vanilla silk soy milk, or skim milk, and applesauce (two tablespoons) watered down/blended with cherry Crystal Light. Yum! Going to try SF Jello for the first time tonight.

Banded August 31, 2007, in Houston Texas by Dr. Felix Spiegel, MD. :P

Still sore, went to Wal-mart today for about an hour and over did it. I only took off Friday the day of the surgery from work, I am supposed to go back tomorrow but I don't think that will happen.

I am a tired of the liquids already but I am going to keep the coarse because I am tired of being overweight.

Forgive me if this is TMI but I have been really constipated for the last 2 days. I called my Dr today and he said to take some Milk of Magnesia. He said it was a common occurrence. Has any one else experienced this? I don't think I'm drinking enough Water, it makes me so full. I'm spacing out the time between drinking and eatting but it's hard to get in 34oz let alone 64oz. :)

Congrats! My paperwork goes to the insurance company this coming week. Just have to get the last five years of med history over to send to the insurance company, just in case.

So...approved??? When will you have your surgery? I'm hoping that everything will happen for me in October - keep your fingers crossed for me!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
