NSV (Non Scale Victories)

OK so i was going threw all the treads on here and realized that whenever someone has a NSV they have to put it somewhere randomly.. So i thought it would be a good idea to have a thread celebrating all of our NSV's. (i know im a dork!! :))

Ok ill start off, a couple of days ago, i came across this pair of jeans my cousin bought me last year, no last year at that time i couldn't even button them at all (even when i tried to play the whole lets suck my stomach in and lay down on the bed game) So i was curious and just had to try them on.. and guess what I put them on no problem i even had my stomach relaxed. :) what a wonderful feeling. and today my mom bought me a top and i treid it on and it was to big... IT'S LITTLE THING LIKE THAT, WHICH MAKE YOU FEEL GREAT ABOUT YOURSELF!!!:clap2:

I have not been able to get myself to run. I am doing good to walk fast. I get all red in the face and breath really hard. But I am doing it. I just havent gotten the gumpson to run yet.

Whosaydaddy...that is AWESOME!! Congratulations!! Is a half or full marathon in your future? I did the Nike Women's Marathon is San Fran in October.....all 240lbs of me!! Now that I'm banded and losing weight, I can't imagine how great the next one will be. I start training in April. Keep it up....that is a HUGE accomplishment!!

Amy

A half-marathon is 13.1 miles and full marathon is 26.2 miles. I know.....CRAZY! I trained for 7 months and walk/trotted the whole way. But I finished!!I trained with a program called Team in Training which is part of the Leukemia/Lymphoma society. Incredible organization...they provide everything you need to train for and complete an event. If you can do a 10K, you CAN definitely do a half-marathon. Keep up the good work!!

wow thanks! Good for you!!!!

26 miles...my gosh....

Ive done 10 miles in high school b4 but i walked alot of it. I think ill do some more 10K's and then do some 10miles and work up from there.

Thanks for the info! Sorrry to take over the thread.

BigM message me sometime i need to have someone with experaince to ask questions.

Cerrin...you got to try the Couch to 5K program!

It gets you running incredibly well.

the thought of 5k scares the crap out of me.:smile:

Where can I look at the program?

How quick do you get to 5k?

Just a couple for me:

1-Last May DW's cousin was getting married in IL. I tried on almost all of the clothes in my closet to find something to wear to both the rehearsal and the wedding. Nothing fit, way to small. Had to go out and buy new clothes for both. Last month I tried on all those clothes that didn't fit. I had to get rid of all of them because they are way too big.

2-Jeans have gone from size 48 to 44 with pleating (sp) from the belt being too tight.

3-had measurements done at the gym. Bf% has gone from almost 31% to 19% and lost almost 40 inches off my body.

My best NSV was today. I left my jackets last night, and didn't have one to wear this morning. My husband threw me his (which has always barely gotten around my shoulders) and it fit PERFECTLY. I told him he never gets it back!

Jennie! That was a nice little Valtines NSV! Thanks!

CereDAd !!! Way to go !!!! I just throw out some suits this weekend that were way too big.

Well took them to GoodWill.

Also go to the C25K group in the exersise thread.

Scared the CRAP outa me to. Espically at 380 when i started it!

OK I tried running yesterday! ROFLMAO it was so funny I honestly dont know how to run. yep I looked like an idiot on the treadmil trying to run. too funny.

I have been packing away all my clothes to give away. Not one item is left except socks!! I bought 2 pairs of size 14p pants last month- now they are too loose after a couple of hours. 2 new pair of size 12p are perfect (for now!) my goal is to be in a size 8 before the summer. I love this! Whenever I lost wt before I just packed up everything because I knew I'd need them again- not anymore. Out they go:thumbup:

Thanks I am trying out the elypticall today. I hope if I can do an increasing amoutn on that then I will be running soon.

MY NSV! Last night when I got out of the tub I wrapped the towel arround me...and NOTHING hung out! (ok it is a beach towel but still!)

*happy dance*
