Hello. I have surgery on the 14th and my doctor prescribed the nasal B12 what Vitamins would you guys recommend. The nurse said I can take an over the counter that doesn't contain b12. Does anyone know what kind that is. Please help.

I guess I am confused! If the doctor prescribed the B12 nasal spray, isn't that what you should do? You can get dissolvable B12 OTC, or pills, but if suggested the spray, that's what I would do.

Do you mean just general Vitamins or specifically B12? I was told to do the sublingual ones (cherry!) you can get those anywhere. As far as other vitamins, I was told to do Flintstones Complete, Calrate 600s and I'm taking additional Vit D and Biotin for my own needs. Usually your doctor should tell you what to take, we were given a packet that included a list of approved vitamins and I picked these (since they go down easy..)

I guess the best thing would be to ask a pharmacist. They may have a really good suggestion for you, or might be able to point you in the right direction by suggesting where you could find them...they may know of an alternative source. Good luck to you!

I need a multivitamin without B12

Unless you have a kidney disorder or similar that is going to keep you from excreting the excess B12, you'll be fine - B12 (like C & like the other B vitamins) is Water soluble so it's not going to do you any harm if you get extra. My sublingual B12s are about 500% of the RDA, and my Vitamin C is about 1000% of the RDA. worst it's going to do is turn your pee yellow.

Multivitamin WITHOUT B12? Seems odd. Many of us are directed to take EXTRA B12 (along with other extra supplements) in addition to the multivitamin. I'd ask my surgical team what they recommend, (brand and dosage) as this seems like a really weird requirement.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
