I have started my new journey. I live in Lindenwold NJ. I have Horizon NJ Health and really nervous about getting approve. I decided to make this journey after my grandmom and I both into the hospital in the same week for leg pain. She is 74 and I am 35, we are both same meds and morbidly obese. I thought if I'm on the same meds as her, will I make it to my 70th birthday at the rate I was going probably not. I have seen the nutritionist on the March 26. I have began collecting all my medical records. Looking through them I come to realize that my weight and health problems are have been never-ending that has to stop. I am going to my first seminar on April 7. I will seeing my family and the surgeon in two weeks and my nutritionist on April 27. Can anyone and everyone give me some advice on hold make sure I cover everything to get approve !!!Thank you!

That is cool that you were at the seminar as well. I was able to bring my two biggest supporters with me, my son and niece. I felt more at ease to see he is also anal and has a great sense of humor. The first funny thing that happen when I got there was when I had to sign in Eva, was super happy and goes you mist be April. All I could do is laugh. My niece was shock that Eva know who I was before asking for my name. It was priceless! I feel can trust Dr Goldstein. Where do you live at? What have you done so far?

It is great to see all y'all wonderful people on this page, i wish everyone the best of luck. I know that can be hard, and make second guess if you are doing the right thing or even test your patience but keep your head and think positive. I look at it as an ultimate goal and greatest challenge I have face. Once you have done what you have completed it will be all worth it on the end. I'm here for support if you need me. Hey Tazi, I'm in Lindenwold NJ also! I started my journey last month and I am halfway through all my clearances (all these copays are killing me). My surgeon Dr. Medvetz is through Our Lady of Lourdes out in Willingboro! Good luck in your journey!

Started the process April. 1st. Saw the nut, psycologist, and insurance. Lady. See my surgeon on Tuesday. Very excited! I should get my exact date for August. I'm 47 and in Kentucky.

I have been to the seminar. I have seen my surgeon ....all my paperwork should be in the insurance hands by May 22.

I'm from new Jersey also ! Old bridge new jersey my surgeon is Dr sadek . All I have left is the gastro did the psychtrist cardiac nutrionist and pulmonary surgery date is June 10th. make sure for insurance purposes you follow up that all these approvals are getting faxed to the surgeons . Found out today that my nutrionist never faxed my evaluation so now I'm double checking that everyone sends it all over

Had my stress test and blood work. All that is left is my gastro. Thanks for the tips. When did you begin your journey theotherfatgirl? Also saw the psychiatrists, and insurance person.

I've had the scope before. Not too bad honestly. Don't stress

Never been under anesthesia for anything so I think that's what freaks me out a bit. I have it at like 6am I'm hoping I'll be so tired I won't be nervous

It is scary but if u stay up late maybe pull an all nighter you will definitely be to tired to stress about being put under that's what I'm going to do good luck and hope you have a happy and safe surgery
