I found out when I heard the Recovery room nurse giving report that I also had a hernia repaired. Except for gas pain, which I had to seriously walk off, I had a very easy recovery and practically no pain.

Good Luck to you.

Yeah, I didn't know until after surgery that I had a hernia repair. I had spasms for about a week, but not unbearable.

I had the hernia repair at the same time. I had a really easy recovery. No gas pains. A little nausea right after surgery, which is common for me. I actually threw up in recovery on 2 prior sugeries but not after the sleeve.

I really just felt like I did WAY too many sit ups. That really tight feeling that gets worse when you sit and loosens up if you move around. By Day 5 or 6 it was like I had done too many sit-ups.

Also had a large hernia repair. My nurses told me i would be more swollen internally for slightly longer. I cannot feel anything they did inside. My incisions hurt and the internal cut thru my abdominal wall is still sore a week out but no longer hurts.

Does anyone have a small lump around your belly button where the mesh was placed? I had an umbilical hernia repaired and have a small lump just wondering if this is normal? Thanks.

They found a hernia during my pre-op EGD and repaired during my sleeve. I have nothing to compare it to, but I was released from the hospital in 24 hours and never needed the narcotic pain meds they sent me home with. Meds controlled my nausea for the first few days and I was back at work the next week. I DID have horrible reflux coughing for about a month but eventually that resolved completely with time and a PPI.

I had a hernia repaired as well. I had a lot of pain the first week. It was much more than I expected. Worse than my c sections.

Nothing unbearable, I knew of my repair prior to surgery... I experienced a little more nausea and I wasn't able to eat much, but I didn't complain as the scale kept dropping in numbers

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
