I know this is a Bodybugg thread, but is anyone familiar with the Actitrainer? It's basically the same thing, with some different features, and it's cheaper. I am thinking about buying one, but I want to find someone who has had it for awhile and is still using it consistently, to give some feedback first...

Ok Im so sad ok maybe not so sad perhaps a little jealous. Friend of mine who lives in Austin Tx just bought one at 24 hr fitness for 249.00 there on sale there yet because Im in the north east and have to buy directly from body bugg they cost 399. plus shipping so unfair. oh well had to vent but Im still saving up I just finished paying off for a years gym membership so I'll have to wait a little bit.

Whooo hoooo!! I finally got my bodybugg and set everything up last night. It did take a bit to set up, just time consuming, not really difficult. I wore it to bed last night and I just downloaded my calories burned to date and whoa, I was pleasantly surprised! Its not too complicated to use and even now, I forget its there. My hubby calls it my lady bodybugg hump! lol!

FYI - I'm in Vancouver, Canada and I purchased the new system on ebay and set up everything with the trainer last night on the phone. Seems to be working fine and hopefully that continues! I will let you know how it goes.

I have had this for an entire week now and I LOVE it! I'm finding myself marching in place on my mini trampoline, dancing with my 2 year old-anything to reach my daily total! This is such a great inspiration and toy!!! Yeah Bodybugg...:clap2:

I guess the price of the bugg is nothing compared to all of the money I have spent on diets and exercise programs. I think though with all the advertising that the bodybugg should give us each one for free! LOL

It is great!! I love it!! Wear it everday....even on my bad days when I don't reach goal because of a 9 hour meeting, where I have to sit the whole time, I can see what my body is doing. I've learned that my job is so bad for me. I only burn 72cal/hr while in a meeting. It sucks and by the time I get home, I'm dead from it. But, still logging everything and I know when I'm not losing..why I'm not!! Plus, it's that time of the month. UGH. So, when that's over, can't wait to get this going in my favor again. LOL!!

OK, I'm with the rest of you. I'm a BUGG ADDICT and it's only been 2 days! This thing is so cool. It motivated me to clean my house last night while watching tv rather than sit on the sofa. Then I jumped rope for 10 minutes just before bed -- not enough to sweat, just enough to burn a quick 50 cals or so. So cool!

I'll be interested to see how closely the scale matches what the bugg says. I know I'll have to judge it more weekly (or monthly) than daily -- I tend to lose nothing then lose 3 or so lbs all in one chunk.

I know my input is very accurate at the moment -- I only eat things I know the calorie content of (just for a couple of weeks while I'm breaking this plateau -- normally I do regular things too, like eat out). What I question is the accuracy of the bugg on what I burn. It seems spot on, but I don't understand the science behind it. I saw somewhere that it is advertised as being 92% accurate, which would be GREAT if that's true, but apparently they didn't test this exact model (if the article is to be believed) -- they tested a model that also used a heart rate monitor.

Anyway, I'm enjoying it, and if anyone has seen a good article on the science/accuracy of the bugg, I'd love to see it.

I just got my BB too! I'm going to set it up in a little while. I think this will be a helpful thread. I'll let you know any tips the personal trainer gives me. Pass on what you learn. Hope this helps me break my platueau! Good luck everyone!

I received my Body Bugg last Friday. I absolutely love it. It takes all the guess work out of dieting and exercise. I know when I have been active enough and when I need to get busy. Since last Friday I have lost five pounds!:whoo:

Okay BB users I just tried to activate my bugg and answered truthfully that I had had weight loss surgery. It won't let me go any further. I called the help line number, but I just had to leave a message. Did not get a real person. Did this happen to any of you? Please advise.

This happened to me to. I went back and changed it to say that I had not had surgery and it worked fine. When the coach called on Monday I told her about it, she said that it was supposed to bring up a waiver for us to sign.

Well, my BodyBugg was right on track with the scale this morning. I only have 0.4 to lose to drop down into the next weight "decade" so you'd better bet I'm going to do the math on that today! I hope it's as consistent tomorrow....I don't trust it (or really, more my body) yet.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
