Hiatal Hernia Program- True Results

Recommended Posts

Yes I do have one. They let me know that day... The surgeon that did the edg came to recovery after. This was through Dr. Kim not TR.

So after your EDG you had your pre op with your doctor? And no I do not take anything or have acid reflux that's why I'm worried. :(

No the doctor that did my Edg is not the surgeon doing the sleeve. Dr Davis is a part of Dr Kim's institute.

My preop class will be next week.

But I met Dr Kim already and he will be doing my surgery. I was worried too that they wouldn't find anything. They said even if it is small it was a hernia, that counted.

I went through true results and was able to afford my surgery thanks to a hiatal hernia. Just be aware you may have more swelling than normal after surgery since they are doing two procedures at once. My swelling was way above normal and I had to have an unfill day 4 post op ... But everyone reacts differently. Make sure to not lift anything heavy 12 weeks after as well .. I'm almost 8 weeks post and happy so far with results

Leo, what's an unfill? Did you have to pay anything when you got your EDG? Or is that included in the $3,500? Also, did they tell you right away if you had a hernia? I'm so worried and stressed I can't even sleep. I wish I knew for sure if I have one. :(

I do not believe that is included in the $3500. True Results had told me I'd get a bill after from the hospital and anesthesiologist for about $1800... Maybe more.

Amber, the hospital told me its financed with the $3,500. But I guess I will find out when I go on the 2nd. I really hope I don't have to pay my deductible b/c its $500. ????

Sweet...Mine total with everything was 4900 and I didn't have to put anything upfront... They allowed me to finance for 102 a month. Unfill is when they have to take out the Saline in your band. They did tell me right after my EGD that I had a hernia. And if it makes you feel better most people do have a hiatal hernia. If you have heart burn or acid reflux it's likely you have one.

Leo, so they let you finance the EDG with the surgery too? That's what they told me they were going to do with mine. Just wanted to make sure b/c I don't have the money to pay up front when I get my EDG. :(

Yes I was able to finance everything. It was all-inclusive.

Leo, thanks so much for the info. I really hope they find at least a tiny hernia so that I can afford the surgery. :(

I'm going through the exact same thing I'm going through true results in Richardson!! My ins will cover the hernia surgery but not the VSG!! So it was to my understanding I could pay the 3,000 out through true results... I have egd scheduled for the 29th.. And they went ahead and scheduled my surgery for June 29th.. I'm in your shoes now.. I'm praying I have the hernia so I'm able to get the surgery.. Just kinda wondering how yours turned out.. Thanks so much!

Operationskinny2k15- Hey! I actually had my surgery scheduled for last month but had to reschedule due to a stomache infection, and so now I'm having surgery on May 27th. Do not worry, you will have a hernia just like I did. I am excited but scared to start my new life. Today is my birthday, and the surgery is a big birthday present to myself from God. <3 If you want to email me or have any questions just shoot me an email at jmar972@yahoo.com

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
