Starting out at age 45? How common?

Anyone else out there just getting started in their mid 40s? I keep reading most people doing this are younger.

42...began process if Dec. Hoping to get a surgery date for May.

I am 66 yrs old - almost 7 weeks out and 35 pounds down!!!! Never too old.

I'm 58 and waiting for my date, but you can never be too old to start improving your health! Even my 94 y.o. father keeps walking 3 miles a day in the high desert to stay fit. He's had colon cancer twice, but only started getting "in shape" after he hit 70.

@@LoreLu LOVE LOVE LOVE your Dad. Mine is upper 70's, 4x cancer and still goes it! Age, like your weight, is a number on the scale. It is NOT the rule of someones' life.

I'm 48 had surgery in March IT IS THE BEST THING I COULD EVER HAVE DONE FOR MYSELF i haven't felt this good in 31years before my first child OF YOUR CONSIDERING DO IT I'm not saying it was easy it wasn't but it was worth it i started at 280 I'm 150 at goal and feeling faboulous no more high blood pressure no more high cholesterol and my knee replacement is off the table. Good luck to everyone

I was 45, 2 months from turning 46.

I was 50, turned 51 a month later

I was 47... I think 40s/50s are a very common age group to have this surgery! Plenty of people younger and older too.

Just sleeved at age 61. Sure older people may lose a little slower but we still lose????
