Anyone from the Jacksonville, FL area?

Hello everyone. My name is Dee and I had surgery on 4-29-15. I've lost 120. I still want to lose 60 more. It's not easy at all but if you have someone to talk to and exercise and eat right you can do it. I wish the best for everyone

I DID IT! I Reached My Goal!

Congratulations. I started at 330 lbs. I'm at 230 lbs. I want to lose 30 more by April 29 because it would make a year. It's hard but I know if I keep eating right and excersise I can do. So hearing your story motivates me more
  7. I think my fitness pal is great. I have used it since my surgery on 4/29/15 and I'm happy to say today makes my 100lb mark. I'm at 230. I still have a ways to go
  8. I'm so glad I read the advice on here. I'm feeling a little down because I do water aerobics for 60 minutes, jog in the water for 30 minutes and do 100 sit ups Monday to Friday and I'm at a stall for the last month. I've lost 98lbs since I had surgery on 4/29/15. I really push myself and I don't get on the scale a lot but when I do I want to see weight lost. I figured all of the work I'm putting in I would see a difference. I'm not going to give up. I'm just glad I got on here and read what people were saying. So thanks everyone

    Eat more calories!

I'm 6 months and 2weeks out and I've lost 94 lbs. I'm at a stall. I do water aerobics 5 to 6 times a week. I use to eat 500 calories a day. Now I eat 1000 and I lose weight. I'm losing inches. It's stressful because you think with all that working out I should be down much more
  10. I use my fitness pal and it always tell me to eat at least 1600 calories a day. I'm only getting in 800-900. I get in all my protein, fiber and liquids. Should I just ignore it because I just can't do it. I feel overwhelmed

    Gout 3 weeks after sleeve

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you take any kind of medicines for gout? Mine got under control once I took mushrooms and spinach out my life. I love both of them but it's not worth the pain in my feet. You have to figure out your triggers and stop eating them. Trust me, you will look at and say, it's not worth it. Best of luck to you

    Gout 3 weeks after sleeve

I have had gout for 7 years so when I decided to have surgery that was my biggest fear. When you eat high levels of protein, it will cause gout. I'm on 2 gout medicines, allopurinol and colcry. I've had it in my knee, feet and elbow. I've lost 65lbs since my surgery on 4/29/15. It was worth it and I'm going to keep eating my protein lol.

    Your Journey

I went to the beach for the 4th. It was crowded but relaxing. It's very difficult when you go out to eat. When people see that you've lost a lot of weight they pay attention to everything you eat or they think you don't like there food lol. You just can't win. I'm in Florida so I always say, it's so hot outside I've lost my appetite. Most people will look at me and say I understand.

    Diet reset

I would like to know. What is the pouch test? I'm down 56lbs since 4/29/15. That was the day I got sleeved. I'm at a stall now I need some suggestions
  19. Hello all. I took several people advice. I'm now doing water aerobics everyday at the ymca. I've lost 50lbs since my surgery on 4-29-15. I love it. They have a chair that takes you in the water. I walk with a cane and have a bad back so this is awesome. This is my first time in a pool. I was so scared to get in for personal reasons but I did it I just wanted to share this with the community and say thank you for the advice that you all have given me.

    Fork With A Timer?

Thank you you so much for the feedback. I have been truly freaking out and I didn't know if I should ask the question.

    Fork With A Timer?

I just want to know, is it strange that I don't get full when I drink? I can drink a 16oz bottle of water in 20 minutes and I'm not full at all. When I eat I just put very little on my plate because I know it should be a small portion. Does anyone else have that problem. I was looking at my op report and it didn't say how much he took off. I just want to feel full. I hope I'm not the only one that feels like this.
  22. I will try the pool also. Thank you so much for the info. I think that would be easier for me
  23. Thank you so much for the info. I will try it and take my time
  24. Hello all. I have a question. I'm 19 days post op and I walk with a cane because I have bad knees and a bad back. My doctor told me I could go to the gym and get on the treadmill or elliptical. I was excited so I went to the gym and stayed on it for 15 minutes even though it bothered my back. The next day I was so sore and stayed in the bed most of the day. I can do the treadmill for a while. So far I've lost 28lbs. Does anyone out there deal with my problems and if so, what kind of exercises do you do. I appreciate any help
  25. I'm 6 days post op and I feel the same way about the commercials. It's normal. Fight the urge. You can get through it.
