Starting out at age 45? How common?

Anyone else out there just getting started in their mid 40s? I keep reading most people doing this are younger.

I was 55 when I had my surgery.

I was 61 when I had surgery! I year this month. I have Blue Cross Oklahoma. BEST THING I EVER DID. Was never over weight until my late 40s. Lost over 100 lbs. YOU can do it, being healthy has no age.

I was 51.... some of us take longer to commit... best 10 years ever.... ok. Some yucky days with my band. But few!! Thankfully

I am 48 and will have my surgery on May 15. I am looking forward to spending my 50's and beyond at a healthy weight.

I'm 47 and finishing requirements for insurance submission in mid April.

45 and my bypass is Monday!

I had my surgery when I was 43 and 1/2. My only regret? Not doing it sooner!!!

I'm 43 and having bypass may 8. I actually felt like I was in the young 1/3 of my nurse consult class of about 30.

I just had gastric sleeve 3/9/17! Mid 40s would have been nice but insurance and finance would not allow. So here I am at 59 and one month post-op. The changes are surprising and daily! I'm down 20#s from surgery and 70+#s from when I started getting clearance/ medical tests, checkups and follow ups. I can't wait til 3 month check up and hopefully having lost 100+#s by then! Hang in there youngsters! Best is yet to come!

45 on May 2nd, had surgery February 9th!

I'll be 59yrs old this year. I'm still going through the process...classes, psych eval. nutritionist, etc. I'm scheduled to attend a 4 1/2 hrs orientation class on 4/27. I am so looking forward to WLS. Good luck to you.

I had my surgery when I was 44...never too late!
