I was prepared for some weight loss in my feet and finger but its been more dramatic than I thought. My question is my wedding ring keeps slipping off especially in the shower and washing dishes. I dont want to get it resized yet because.i have 50 lbs left to loose and I dont want to stop wearing it. I actually put it on my forefinger sometimes but it feels funny any one else.have a solution?

Yes...go to a jewelry story and have them add a ring guard. It can be removed once you are at the weight you expect to maintain at. I have ring guards on many of my rings because the stones will pop if they cut away as much as they have to to make my rings fit correctly.

You could wear it as a necklace.

weight loss in my feet and finger dramatic

@@loriemoms

happy you lost weight/shoe size

i was not that lucky

i decided to have my ring resized

(i knew i would have to do again later)

it took over 2 weeks to get it back from the "repair shop" back

my poor hand felt naked

if i had to do it over again

I would have opted for the ring guard

weight loss/finger........

go "hand in hand"

62 lbs down!!!

that is great :)

keep up the good job

l know you will :)

I've noticed that my rings are already getting too big too. They slip around on my finger moving the stones to the back, which I know isn't good. I think the idea of a ring guard is a good idea until I reach goal and can then have them resized.

As for shoes getting too big... what a shame.... I guess I'll just have to go shopping...

There is a product called "ring bling" that you put on your finger under your ring so they don't slip off. They are temporary and come on packs of 15 or so. I used them til I stabilized and had some rings redone ... Or go way back to high school and wrap yarn or thread on the inside. Ha

ring guard is a smart idea, I have to have one put on my wedding ring as well. I don't relish sizing my ring down but losing the weight is necessary.

I halve always had skinny fingers (by most people's standards). My wedding rings are a 5 1/2 and a 6, soldered together. They slip and slide all the time. My largest ring size is a 7 - middle finger, and those slide as well. i don't know how small my fingers will be. i do have a wedding tattoo. Since I am home most of the time, I don't always wear my rings anyway.

As for shoes, oh I hope I can go down a size! I have long skinny toes, and long narrow feet - size 11. Even going down half a size will open up shoe options for me! :-D

I have been wearing guards on my rings after I lost my first 30lbs which was about a month post op. Now even the ring guards don't help. I am taking both of mine in today for the first resizing.

Also as far as losing shoe size ( I wear 11s too). I did go from a extra wide width to a narrow. Some shoes I can fit in a 10 1/2 but it is rare.

@@Djmohr, oh poo! you were supposed to confirm that we would magically go from 11's to a 7 or something like that!! But I do have a narrow foot so I am curious as to what will change.

I don't want to size my rings until I have lost all the weight. My identical sister at her lowest wore a 4 1/2 engagement ring.

I had a jeweler wrap a little piece of wire (ring guard?) around the underside of my ring until my weight had stabilized and I had it resized. I also tried the little rubber ring sizers you can get online but found the jeweler's solution less annoying. A couple of other rings I used to wear on my ring finger now go on bigger fingers or even my thumb!

I definitely lost at least a full ring size... so I went and bought new rings! lol

Feet are at least a half size smaller and I don't need a wide anymore. However, I must have monster calves because even with the weight loss, I can't find a pair of knee high boots that fit even in the extended calf. I did find a pair at Payless (designers have crazy ideas of what an extended calf actually measures) but they don't have a heel so they're disappointing.

One of the things I did was add a couple of (fake) rings to my set. The wider your ring(s) is (are) the tighter they will be on your hand. Meaning, that the more real estate they take up the less slipping and sliding they will do. I have a picture attached for reference. Literally, the 2 on the ends are some cheap Avon bands I bought on Ebay.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
