How long does it take to know if you are approved?

Recommended Posts

My name is Roni my refural got sent in last Friday and I haven't heard anything. Should I call them? I'm new to all of this and to this site. Not sure if I'm doing this right. I'm not sure how to add friends or anything. I tried to fill in my profile but I don't see anything. And I'm not sure how to add pictures. Can I do it from this app or do I have to go to Google and go to the site? Any help on this would be great. Thank you and I'm looking forward to talking to you and making new friends

You can call the insurance company and check on the status. My office told me it usually takes 2 weeks but they can take up to 30-45 days.

My doctor's office sent the information in to Blue Cross Blue Shield on 2/10. They told me it could be anywhere from 2-8 weeks until the insurance company approves it. I called the insurance company on 2/12 to make sure that they got everything the doctors sent in, to put my mind at ease, and found out that they had approved it on 2/10. So mine took less than a day to approve. Every insurance company is different, but they will let you know the status if you call them.

Ivy4u-took your advice and called to see if they received the paperwork (I was actually calling about another claim but thought I'd ask). I was approved. My surgeon's office just got my surgery clearance yesterday afternoon. So this was 24 hrs. ( Less than, really) I'm really happy.

I've been worried because my company just announced they are making changes to the medical plan that take effect April 1. It would just make the surgery more expensive so hoping to get an approval soon so that I can get surgery done in March.

Mine was sent yesterday and approved today. My doctor said they usually take up to 14 days. Every insurance company is different.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
