Pizza ughhhh

Recommended Posts

Pre op liquid diet sucks so bad, especially when your boyfriend and his room mates are having pizza night. This is probably the hardest thing I've done.

If anyone in or even near my house had pizza during my pre-op diet, homicide might have been an issue! Congratulations on staying strong! You can do this.

OMG... I would have murdered my husband if he had pizza in the house on my pre-op. I couldn't even stand seeing commercials for pizza on TV, much less the smell of the real thing.

My class had pizza last Friday for our Valentine's party. I had promised them pizza before I got my surgery date and I couldn't go back on it. I was only ten days post- op and in the full liquid stage. It was pure torture.

Think of how fabulous you're going to look after your surgery and then tell yourself something nasty happened to that pizza lol.

A note for those of you who are pre-op or a few weeks post-op... I've lost my desire for pizza altogether now. My entire life, pizza was BY FAR my favorite food. I would literally eat it every day if I could (and for some periods of my life, I did!). It was the thing I was most desperate to have again once I was back on solid foods. Well, I tried it a few times and it does NOTHING for me now. I think a big part of it is that I can't eat much at all and pizza was definitely a binge food for me before. It's not as satisfying when you can only eat one piece or the toppings off two pieces. Plus, I know it doesn't give me the Protein I need and I'm all about protein first these days!

I feel your pain. pizza is my downfall too. I haven't started my pre op diet yet but I'm sure it will be a challenge. When is your surgery? Mine is scheduled for March 18? Stay strong. We got this!!!!

I just did my pre op diet last week and pizza was the only food I really really craved!!! Guess we all have that in common too.

You're lucky if not eating pizza is the hardest thing you've ever done.

Seriously.

Hi, my sleeve is scheduled for March 2 and my doctor does not require 2 week liquid diet. This seems uncommon, any thoughts? Thanks.

Every surgeon is different. Just be sure to follow YOUR surgeon's instructions.

Congratulations on your determination! The good news is that in a couple of weeks, skipping the pizza will be much easier. I've been to so many parties where I watched people eating pizza, wings, ice cream, and everything else you can think of. My trick? Planning!!! I drink a Protein shake on the way, bring along a big tumbler of Crystal Light iced tea, and have a bag of beef or turkey Jerky on hand in case of emergencies. Seriously, never allow lack of planning to derail your program. And good luck!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
